But it's clever of you to pick urban US singers. It's a completely different culture there. Someone looking like Pixie Lott will never be considered a good singer by some people. They just have it ingrained into their heads that anybody who doesn't have the "I'm a credible artist" image can't be a good singer. Look how much difficulty some people have accepting that Katy Perry writes her lyrics, yet those same people have no difficulty accepting that Adele does.
