February 19, 201214 yr YAY One Moment In Time managed to stay in. Lovely to hear it on the chart, shame it couldn't be in better circumstances. Oh, hi everyone too. ^_^
February 19, 201214 yr Chart Run 1988: 24-8-3-1-1-3-6-13-19-38-52-69 [12 wks] That would probably be considered a non-#1 by today's standards! :o But in reality I imagine it was a really big hit when it was released. I'd like the charts to maybe get more fast-paced one day. Especially looking at that 1997 retro. Since they've been really slow since I started following them. I didn't think this would make it in the top 40. Looks like Whitney will manage three songs then! :o

February 19, 201214 yr Much prefer this to I Will Always Love You! Incidentally is it possible for people to use full titles rather than just initials? You and other fans of whichever act it is may know straight away but it makes it easier for everyone else..... Edited February 19, 201214 yr by Shaky Fan

It was a big hit because of the Olympics that year (1988 Seoul), it was the hymn of the Olympic Games. I can imagine high sales when it was number 1.
February 19, 201214 yr That would probably be considered a non-#1 by today's standards! :o No! A non number 1 today would still be one that didn't make number 1. The chart run shows that it did make number 1.....
February 19, 201214 yr Rolling in the Deep! Probably my favourite Adele single now. 4th run in the top 40 aswell I think!!

February 19, 201214 yr It was a big hit because of the Olympics that year (1988 Seoul), it was the hymn of the Olympic Games. I can imagine high sales when it was number 1. 69k and 77k at the time (approx sales). It was actually one of the lesser selling chart toppers of 1988 :o 313k in total in 88. :o
February 19, 201214 yr No! A non number 1 today would still be one that didn't make number 1. The chart run shows that it did make number 1..... "A non-number 1" is a Buzzjack phrase which refers to a song that makes #1 but the rest of it's chart run shows that it probably didn't deserve to
February 19, 201214 yr 69k and 77k at the time (approx sales). It was actually one of the lesser selling chart toppers of 1988 :o 313k in total in 88. :o oh I thought it hit 500k, but still OKish.
February 19, 201214 yr I love 'Love On Top'. :D (but 'Countdown' was much better and deserved at least a top ten position)
February 19, 201214 yr No! A non number 1 today would still be one that didn't make number 1. The chart run shows that it did make number 1..... Sorry. I fully agree with you. I just meant other people on here would say it's a "non-#1", since people here just call anything that spends less than 3 months in the top 40 a "non-#1". I do agree with you that it's wrong to use that term, and everything that gets to #1 is a #1, however much it sells. :) Reggie got the number of weeks that Love on Top has in the chart completely wrong. :drama: Edited February 19, 201214 yr by Eric_Blob
February 19, 201214 yr "A non-number 1" is a colloquial phrase which refers to a song that makes #1 but the rest of it's chart run shows that it probably didn't deserve to  .. and its sales are low in the end, like Nero - Promises last year.
February 19, 201214 yr No! A non number 1 today would still be one that didn't make number 1. The chart run shows that it did make number 1..... That's not what people mean by that term regardless of its literal meaning.
February 19, 201214 yr Shame My Love Is Your Love hasn't made it. I wish Rolling In The Deep would just bore off already. I was never fussed with it to begin with. It's only gonna get worse next week after the Brits.
February 19, 201214 yr "A non-number 1" is a Buzzjack phrase which refers to a song that makes #1 but the rest of it's chart run shows that it probably didn't deserve to  I realised what was meant but it just doesn't make sense to me. :)
