March 5, 201213 yr I think it will stick around until Q4 which is when there are tonnes of new releases. It will probably return Top 10 by January 2013.
March 5, 201213 yr Oh I mis-read the question! I thought out of the top 40! Not top 10! So I went for the last option. Although her songs are going to be getting raped by shows like 'The Voice', 'Britain's Got Talent' and then 'X Factor' :drama: (I'm sure there'll be something in between BGT and XF to keep '21' selling aha)
March 5, 201213 yr I think Oct-Dec where Q4's new releases will overshadow it as april has already stated, I fully expect it to return many times after though of course, if all the high profile shows keep raping her songs, it could well stay in the top 10 right until 20 fecking 14 :drama:
March 5, 201213 yr Hopefully sharpish. It's getting a little boring now and there are other albums out there just as good that could do with the recognition a top ten album could give them.
March 5, 201213 yr I'm going to take a shot for 'not until 2013', it's easier to get rid of chlamydia than this album.

There's still 9 other places in the top 10 :P Albums that have peaked at #11 since the release of 21: Alison Krauss & Union Station - Paper Airplane Duran Duran - All You Need Is Now Miles Kane - Colour Of The Trap Pitbull - Planet Pit Roberta Flack - Love Songs The Soldiers - Message To You And albums that have peaked at #12 while both Adele albums were top 10: The Drifters - Up On The Roof - The Very Best Of Frank Turner - England Keep My Bones Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - Working My Way Back To You Gorillaz - The Fall Joe Bonamassa - Dust Bowl John Barrowman - Tonight's The Night - The Very Best Of So the above albums would become top 10 albums if Adele was wiped clear from history (also Alicia Keys' As I Am and Robyn's Robyn if we go back to when 19 was originally released) :kink: Most of these are well-established artists that have had plenty of other album successes, the only exceptions being Miles Kane (who had a #1 album with The Last Shadow Puppets), Pitbull (who has had plenty of singles success), Frank Turner, Joe Bonamassa and John Barrowman (who's more popular as an actor anyway). And Robyn, but again she's had quite significant singles success. (This post is not meant to downplay your point by the way, just a bit of research). Edited March 5, 201213 yr by Engelbré
March 5, 201213 yr I think it will end up at #11 or #12 one week, perhaps on a week where there's a few new entries in the Top 10, and then return to the Top 10 for ages after that week. Not sure which month that'll happen in, though.
March 5, 201213 yr Albums that could be top 10 contenders: 5th Mar Bruce Springsteen – Wrecking Ball The Fray - Scars And Stories Katie Melua - Secret Symphony Lionel Richie – Tuskegee Military Wives – In My Dreams 12th Mar Marcus Collins – Marcus Collins Michael Kiwanuka - Home Again 19th Mar New Order - The Lost Sirens Paul Weller – Sonik Kicks 26th Mar Iron Maiden – En Vivo Madonna – MDNA 2nd Apr Labrinth – Electronic Earth Lostprophets – Weapons Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded 9th Apr nothing 16th Apr nothing 23rd Apr Feeder - Generation Freakshow Jack White – Blunderbuss So possibly the week of the 2nd of April only to climb straight back in.
March 5, 201213 yr I reckon May time but as others have said, return again and keep doing this until the start of the new year!

I don't think all of those will go top 10 and some of the ones that do will simply fall behind '21' again very quickly. I expect it to survive in the top 10 until Q4. I've been intending to do some stats on how long albums have stayed ahead of '21' since its release for a while now actually - while I'm on the topic I guess I should go do that~

March 5, 201213 yr Albums which have been ahead of '21' at any point since its release, ordered by how many weeks they were ahead: 11 weeks Ed Sheeran - + (n/c - 3wks, 1wk, 1wk, 2wks, 1wk, 3wks) 9 weeks Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto (n/c - 5wks, 3wks, 1wk) Michael Bublé - Christmas 5 weeks Olly Murs - In Case You Didn’t Know Rihanna - Talk That Talk 4 weeks Amy Winehouse - Lioness: Hidden Treasures Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 3 weeks Amy Winehouse - Back To Black Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops & Hooligans (n/c - 1wk, 1wk, 1wk) Lady Gaga - Born This Way (n/c - 2wks, 1wk) Lana Del Rey - Born To Die 2 weeks Beyoncé - 4 Emeli Sandé - Our Version Of Events (n/c - 1wk, 1wk) Florence + The Machine - Ceremonials James Morrison - The Awakening JLS - Jukebox Kasabian - Velociraptor! Matt Cardle - Letters One Direction - Up All Night Steps - The Ultimate Collection Susan Boyle - Someone To Watch Over Me Will Young - Echoes 1 week Alfie Boe - Alfie André Rieu & His Johann Strauss Orchestra - And The Waltz Goes On Arctic Monkeys - Suck It And See Cher Lloyd - Sticks + Stones David Guetta - Nothing But The Beat Drake - Take Care Example - Playing In The Shadows Foo Fighters - Wasting Light Joe McElderry - Classic Kate Bush - 50 Words For Snow Kelly Clarkson - Stronger Leonard Cohen - Old Ideas Maverick Sabre - Lonely Are The Brave Nero - Welcome Reality Paul McCartney - Kisses On The Bottom Professor Green - At Your Inconvenience Rebecca Ferguson - Heaven Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You Snow Patrol - Fallen Empires Take That - Progress The Wanted - Battleground Westlife - Greatest Hits That's 44 albums in 58 weeks. Half of those dropped behind it immediately and never re-overtook it. Only three albums have managed over 5 weeks and only one over 10 (and only 'Christmas' has done over 5 in a row). An average of 2.34 weeks ahead of '21' for each album that did it for at least a week. Edited March 5, 201213 yr by Engelbré

I know but I was more thinking of the top 5 to be honest as that's all that gets publicity on Radio 1. An extension of the album chart aired is needed so that some people get a chance to know what's on offer besides Adele.
March 5, 201213 yr Maybe late summer or just after if it gets busy enough? But probably not this year...
March 5, 201213 yr The 21st century record for weeks in the top 10 is 72 weeks, held by both 'The Fame' and 'Back To Black' (the latter including weeks in the top 10 by both versions, so there's one 'duplicate' week where both were top 10 at the same time). Adele could well beat that before dropping out for the first time. It would achieve that on the 17th of June (15 weeks from yesterday).
March 5, 201213 yr I'm going to take a shot for 'not until 2013', it's easier to get rid of chlamydia than this album. Ahahahahahahaha.
March 5, 201213 yr Hopefully soon. It's not even that good an album. The singles are all great and 'Turning Tables' but the album tracks are a bit dull. I think it's just selling on hype now.
