... I was wondering that they only need a number 8 peaking single, and then every single of theirs (not counting 'St. Trinians Theme' as it wasn't pushed or promoted as a single) would have then peaked inside the top 11.

Has any other act done that? How far are they from having every/most singles peak at each number in the top 10?

Evis has peaked at every position from 1 to 19 though oddly never 20.

Elton John 1 through 12

In more recent times (post 1980) Madonna has had a single peak at every position 1 through to 11.

Eurythmics peaked at every position 1-12 apart from No 7.

The interesting thing here is, they've had just one single peak at each number in the top 10 except #7.

I hope Girls Aloud will be the best comeback in this year!! They have so many powerful pop songs in their discography!! They don't need release solo material. They are best as a team.

Kylie Minogue has had a song peak at each position in Top 12 apart from positions 7 and 9.

Sugababes has had a song peak at each position in Top 13 apart from positions 5 and 9.

Rihanna has had a song peak at each position in Top 11 apart from positions 7 and 10.

Beyonce has had a song peak at each position in the Top 13 apart from positions 6 and 9.

So quite rare for a song to peak at #9! :P

Craig Douglas had 4 consecutive hits peak at #9 in the 1960s!

Kylie Minogue, the queen of number 2's lol.

As this thread turned into "artists who've missed out on a couple of Top 10 positions" - Robbie Williams! He's still missing a #5 & #7 hit after releasing over 30 solo singles. Incidentally Take That never scored a #5 single either, but managed two #7 hits (both achieved when Robbie was in the group).

If we were to take individuals who've had chart success in different forms (i.e. group & solo), Kimberley Walsh has hit all the positions in the Top 11. Her one solo release charted at #8, which as previously mentioned is the one chart position that's alluded Girls Aloud within the Top 11!

They should release a greatest hits album with 2 or 3 new songs & finish the re-union tour then split up for good.

I'd imagine that across all acts he was a part of, Paul McCartney must have close to the entire top 40?

With the exceptions of #11, #14, #24, #27, #30, #31, #33, #36, #37, #38, and #40 :P So not quite there yet!

Get that success Kimberley! :P

As much as I adore her, who would have thought she would be the only Girls Aloud member (besides Cheryl, obviously) to have a top 10 hit?

Pink is also missing a no.8 despite having charted in every other position between 1 and 13.

Not really any kind of pattern, but Oasis charted at 1-4 and 10 multiple times each but never anything in between.

Stereophonics have had 11 top 5 singles and a further 10 top 20 singles, but nothing ever peaking between 6-10!

Tom Jones is only missing 12, 15 & 20 to get the whole top 20.

Rolling Stones have peaked in every position in the top 15 bar #4.

Pet Shop Boys missing 3, 6 & 17 from the top 20.

Depeche Mode are famous for having the most top 40 singles without a top 3 hit. From #4 to #24 they're only missing 10 & 20.

Glee Cast have peaked at every number between 41 and 100 except 50, 71, 78, 85, 86, 90 and 92. (Between 21 and 40 they're only missing 21, 24, 28, 29 and 34 as well, but in the top 20 they've only HAD #2, #9, #14 and #16).

Indeed, I'd never have predicted it! Poor Nadine & Nicola. Though Nicola couldn't even get into the Top 110 with her recent single, let alone Top 10. #popinjustice :drama:
