I think the main selling point of 'n****'s in Paris' is definitely the beat. I got to say love that beat.

Didnt notice End of Time climbing really nicely  #80  :D Hope its top 10! Love.
'End Of Time' deserves to out do 'Love On Top'! (In fact it deserves to be the highest peaking and biggest selling single from this era!) Hope it can somehow get top 10 and stay in the higher reaches for a little bit. Although I'm not holding my breath :(
I think M.I.A. is a dead chart for a chart peak inside the top 40, which means Gym Class Heroes or will.i.am out of the official chart come Sunday or both if Drake climbs any further..

Yeah obviously its at a disadvantage over previous singles as '4' has sold pretty well now, but it hasnt sold such a huge amount that prevents 'End Of Time' cant be a big hit. :) I'm hoping top 10, we'll see. I did really like 'Love On Top' too.

Is BBC radio 1 and 2 snubbing it, not on any of their playlists. They dropped Love On Top pretty quick aswell.

Is Starships increasing or Gotye increasing? Also emeli/flo rida must be down to 40k in sales now if nos 5-7 are nearly even on the pop-up bars!!

Whatever happens next week, if Gotye has sales of around 60k NEXT week we could have a massive selling top 5, maybe the biggest in the download era?

Fyi - they're popularity bars, not pop-"up" bars! ;)

I love the song, but surely what's more offensive is the lyric: "got my niggas in paris, and they going gorrilas"... Unless i haven't actually understood what it means... :/

No one knows what it means, but it's provocative.

(I'm completely with randomfurlong and Charlie regarding black rappers' use of the N word for the record - it clearly doesn't have a derogatory intent, in fact it's the exact opposite of that, so it's not offensive. The context matters more than the word itself).

Rappers using the N word isn't a new thing anyway, it's been used pretty much as long as the genre has existed, it's just because it's in a song title that it's being brought to certain people's attention now.

WOO at it being up to #9, to get back on topic :P Please climb to at least #6 before Sunday.

 40. Oh My Goodness - Olly Murs

Heart On My Sleeve didn't enter the official top 100 until the equivalent of next Sunday in its own release schedule, so I'd think this is likely to outpeak it. Then maybe he can get a fourth top 40 hit off this era as well.

Only fourth? It fells more like forty! :(

Also...

 80. Glee Cast - La Isla Bonita

 112. Glee Cast - Sexy And I Know It

 135. Glee Cast - Bamboleo/Hero

Why is this climbing all of a sudden? :o Video?

I loved this last May when I first heard it and I still love it now. It's in my top 10 most played tracks on iTunes ever. ^_^ Definitely deserves to outpeak BTINH. BTINH is tame compared to the majority of 4. -_-

Glad Gotye is keeping that Nicki Minaj crap off #1 - seriously why does anyone like her? Pleased to see Marcus Collin's bad cover not doing well. Rare to see the best song in the iTunes top 40 at #1, and the worst at #2.
Agreed, I actually shudder inside every time I hear or see the word. On that basis alone I'd rather not see the song top 10, but on top of that the song itself is actually f***ing dreadful. Why are so many people championing it to go top 10?

I completely agree, whilst I understand its not being used in a racist context in this sense, I generally hate that word , I'm aware its common amongst black rap, but it never fails to put me off a song, particularly when I see it in a title (sorry if discussion has moved on :P )

Just the response I was waiting for...

Consider this - if a white artist were to write a song with 'Pikeys' in the title, I bet the police would be knocking at their door ASAP!

It would be OK if the artist concerned identified with and considered themselves to be a 'pikey'.

As others have said it's all about context and who is using the the word, rather than the word itself.

I cant see Katy Perry not getting #1 next week with the music video of "Part Of Me" being premièred on the 21st of March
I do like Nicki but she's SUCH a sell-out. One minute she's a very urban rapper with a distinct style and delivery with credible songs ('Moment 4 Life', 'Your Love', 'Massive Attack') and the next she's wearing bright wigs, dressing like Barbie and having dance breakdowns in her songs.

I'm probably wrong here but I remember Radio 1 keeping Love On Top on the playlist for ages.

I agree. And I don't see the point exactly, since there's dozens of other popular artists doing what she's doing now (Taio Cruz, Katy Perry, etc.). She was pretty unique before. I feel like she's trying to be Madonna, but the funny thing is she'll be forgotten amongst the plethora of other pop artists trying to be Madonna. She had more chance of becoming an icon by doing songs like Moment 4 Life, etc. She had much more of a niche, and less competition.

The barbie and the wigs go further back though, so I don't mind those. Just the music that's so annoying.

And a song that isn't a sell-out, End of Time up to #77! :o :cheer:
