Oh God Paffendorf were awful! Me and my best friend used to make each other laugh ourselves silly doing these deep German accents going 'YAH, DAS IST COOL'...and I loved Truth Hurts! Apparently an early demo of it got offered to Holly Valance when she was making her first album...can you imagine?

Madonna - What It Feels Like For A Girl

Janet Jackson - Doesnt Really Matter

Janet Jackson - Runaway

Michael Jackson - Blood On The Dance Floor

Mariah Carey - Shake It Off / Get Your Number

Britney Spears - 3

Lucie Silvas - Breathe In

Peaked one place higher than What You're Made Of yet it's much less remembered imo. I know What You're Made Of is hardly culturally significant but I still hear it a bit on the radio, yet never Breathe In. Though I love WYMO, I much prefer this

I was waiting for some Lucie! I clearly haven't forgotten Breathe In nor What You're Made Of. :P

There was a Alex Gaudino track that reached no.10 in September 2010. I don't know what it's called. The only reason I remember it is because it appeared in the chart thread some months back in the retros. It had only been a year but I couldn't remember the track for the life of me.

I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)

That was I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It) - to be honest I don't even remember how it goes, just Wiki'd it
I've been listening to the top 40 for 15 years now and usually remember what went top 10. Sometimes I'll forget and think 'oh yeah' when I'm reminded of a track. But that Alex Gaudino one is literally the only top 10 hit I couldn't remember at all in all that time.
I remember it better than I remember 'What A Feeling'.

I remember it better than any of Alex Gaudino's singles (yes, even more than Destination Calabria). The girl in it sounds like Rihanna, so I actually thought it was Rihanna's lead single (off Loud) when I first heard it.

Entered at #9 in 1998, dropped like a rock afterwards, but I still think this is absolutely brilliant!

I think this is more popular in Eurovision fan circles than it is with the public. #2 in 1982 "One Step Further" by Bardo. 7th in Eurovision held in Harrogate!

#9 hit from 2004....Kristian Leontinou "Story of My Life" - it's popular in my house and my mp3 player. Shame he never made it big...great artist and album.

LOVE LOVE that. Used to have his album!

Kristian Leontinou is probably more famous now for having Meredith Kercher feature in one of his videos.....

#5 in 2003, he was my fave from the first Fame Academy.

Oh yes....I remember it being on the news - "Some Say".....shame that missed top 40, worked well with the revamp in the single version. I LOVE THE ALBUM! Every song is wonderful.

I LOVED Kristian Leontiou! Amazing album, still listen to it today :) Ainslie Henderson got on my wick though with his OVER. ENUN. CI. ATION. in a mockney voice of every word in the song...

Oh also, another good 'forgotten top 10' from 2003...Speedway - 'Genie in a Bottle' anyone? Their album was great, the follow up 'Can't Turn Back' did them far more justice! Of course they're only remembered now for the fact Jill Jackson, their frontwoman briefly dated Alex Parks who probably also qualifies for this thread!

I think apart from a few nostalgics....these aren't that memorable:

Blazin Squad - "Love On The Line" (my god could they even sing! Bad as the two screechers that got 0 in Eurovision a few months after.....)

D-Side - "Speechless" - Their album was very good! Finally listened to it for the first time in 4/5 years.

This was top ten this time 10 years ago...."My Culture" by 1 Giant Leap...not even Robbie Williams could make this memorable:

I know this is pushing it, but can we have a forgotten top 40 thread?
