Well Tulisa is very good at blowing(sorry).

Lol. I think she's really poor. At least in the video. I would've got bored if she was doing that to me (and that's saying something considering how horny I generally am).

Dappy also said he wants to release 4 singles before his album. I'm really not sure if their labels will let them go through with that. US urban artists often release about 6 singles before their albums, but usually a lot of them are 'promo singles' which the label don't usually intend to promote, so maybe Tulisa might do something like that.

Gotye down to #10 :( He'll almost certainly be kicked out of the top 10 on Sunday unless he gets a boost very soon then...
Quite weird to think that this could be the last ever week that Gotye has a song top 10 on iTunes. I certainly hope its not, and his album selling decently suggests it might not be.

Yes sorry indeed. I warned someone about comments like this before, so watch what you say please.

TBH, Gotye should remain top 10 next week, as he will climb from the weekend effect.
I think Eyes Wide Open is his next single, but I can't see it troubling the top 10, could get low top 40 off the back of Somebody That I Used To Know (like Champagne Showers for LMFAO) but I think he's gonna be a one-hit-wonder. :(

Sadly I agree, he screams one hit wonder to me (comparable to Owl City I think).

Gotye will be a one hit wonder...but what a hit!!!

Actually, the comparison to Owl City is a good one. I also thought 'Fireflies' was a brilliant track.

For such an obvious one hit wonder Gotye's album has held up surprisingly well:

4-5-6-10-13-13-16-12-11-11-

I do think his second single could go top 40 at least but he's clearly not going to get any more big hits. Same applies to fun. and possibly Carly Rae Jepsen althouhg I could see her follow-up going at least top 10.

The only difference between Gotye and Owl City is that the latter's material all sounded identical - whereas 'Eyes Wide Open' from Gotye sounds completely different to 'Somebody That I Used to Know'. Anyway, I'm sure Gotye will survive another week in the top 10 - the multiple versions + weekend effect generally put it ahead of Nicki Minaj and I can't see Train overtaking him officially come Sunday.

I definately see CRJ and Fun. next singles, Curiosity and Some Nights going at least top 20. I'd love for Some Nights to break into the top 10 though.

Some Nights is at #11 on the US On-Demand chart. I know this has like nothing to do with how well it'll sell in the UK, but it shows there's quite some interest in other songs from fun., and people are listening to that song a lot, so maybe they could get another hit (although obviously it won't be anywhere near as big as We Are Young).

I wouldn't say that all Owl City's material sounded identical, indeed, when I first heard it, I was astonished how different Vanilla Twilight was to Fireflies. I think the problem was there was nothing else he had that was going to be a hit, Fireflies sounds anthemic, a lot of the rest of his material was never going to be a hit in the UK, just for being too.. er.. different.

Gotye has a similar problem, Eyes Wide Open is different, but I can't see how it's going to be a hit. Radio will pick up Somebody That I Used To Know. I can't see them doing the same for Eyes Wide Open, and it's not going to sell without airplay, as Gotye isn't a big name, it's his song.

Modestep have over 2 million views? Wut?

The video's fantastic, it's big budget and comic book inspired, so I'm not surprised it's immensly popular.

24. The Fray - How To Save A Life

28. Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody

43. Rihanna & Calvin Harris - We Found Love (Could this also re-enter the top 40?)

395. Demi Lovato - Give Your Heart A Break

171. The Fray - You Found Me

195. Rihanna & Coldplay - Princess Of China

226. Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had

228. Rihanna - Where Have You Been

275. Beyonce - Run The World (Girls) (This has actually done fantastic and remained stable)

608. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

Rihanna actually has 29 songs in the top 1000.

Colour TV wasn't even invented when Gotye first got into the top 10 on iTunes

Starships video is out, i dont think VEVO will be uploading anytime soon so we have to make do with this until a HQ one comes out...
