I think it is. 5 of their MJ covers went top 100 on iTunes but I don't recall them getting six top 100 before this series. (It's doubtful that any will go top 100 officially apart from HWIK and possibly IWDWS(WLM) though :P)

I think it's just that Call Me Maybe is the only song people in the UK have downloaded in the past 48 hours. I've never seen a song dominate this much before. Very impressive.

Could 'Call Me Maybe' be the song that people have been hoping for and actually rival Rihanna's run at the top with 'Umbrella'? It seems to be growing and growing in popularity and it seems to be fighting off "obvious contenders" with ease. (Conor, Calvin & Ne-Yo, potentially Rita and Tulisa too!)

So Carly's certain to get a fourth week at #1 on Sunday, and she'll take the 2012 consecutive weeks record next week if she can hold off Tulisa. Beating Rita Ora and moving onto six weeks at the top will be the longest since "Bleeding Love", and then it's The Saturdays as the most likely contenders the week after.

 

To be frank I think fun. are likely to be just as much of a threat as any of those, they certainly look like the only one of those already released to have a chance.
