Is it this you are refering to? I don't mind it, but it seems a bit bland for a single release. It kind of reminds me of Jason Derulo's 'It Girl' just a little bit.

Yeah. I agree it's like It Girl, it's even got the whistling aswell!

As for Flo Rida's own discograhpy, I think it's similar to Elevator. And also elevator=whistle.

Primadonna STILL at #12. I thought it would have been at least #11. I love She Doesn't Mind, i hope it and Marina can overtake Bieber and Usher into the top 10 :(
This has never been below #300 on iTunes. I think this could actually be their second biggest selling single tbh.
Nah. I hope it can become one of their signature covers though. It's slightly better than the original for me.

Alex Clare  16

YES YES YES YES YES

IT'S HAPPENING!

Anyway...Marina probably won't go top ten, but the song's still outdone my expectations!

Hopefully the live lounge (tomorrow?) will give her a boost into the top 10! Come on Marina. PROMOTE MORE! :(

ISTM adverts featuring rappers are necessarily aimed at a very narrow target demographic, as there are many people for whom any such use would make purchasing/using the product out of the question... ;)

Random fact: if the top 2 this week remains Carly and Conor, it'll be the first time since W/E 27/02/1982 that both the song and the artist of both of the top 2 all begin with the same letter.

The top 2 that week:

1 The Jam - Town Called Malice

2 Tight Fit - The Lion Sleeps Tonight

This one cheats a bit by using the word 'The' though - I'll keep checking to see if it's happened any other times without this :P

Just as well the 'The' never had a #1 then.

I've now checked the rest of HISTORY and that's the only other example I can find of this happening. Now I just hope Carly and Conor stay the top 2 so that wasn't a big waste of time :D

That really has nothing to do with that Flo Rida song.

But I do agree though. I could only see rap songs being used to advertize things like sports clothing or maybe video games, or certain movies. Things like that.

lol. You think of the most random things to check out.

Childish Gambino up to #75 and Alex Clare up to #16 makes me very happy!! :cheer: Too Close could really be massive if it had more of a commercial push imo.

Wasn't good feeling used in that Thomas Cook holiday advert? I don't think the demographic market is that small tbf.

No? Didn't Thomas Cook nearly go into Administration recently...

Was it this advert? Yeah, I guess so, but they didn't even include any of the rapping. :drama: So that might aswell just be a remix of an Etta James song. Good Feeling is basically just a dance song anyway, rather than a hip hop song.

Just noticed Linkin Park - BURN IT DOWN at #37. I had no idea of this song's existance, just played the clip, sounds alot better than anything I heard off their last album! :D Don't know why the title's capitalised though...

Edit: Rob beat me to it. :P

And The Jam one is only half-right anyway because it was a double A-side with "Precious". For 30 years, I've though the other side was called "A Town Called Malice" - turns out I was wrong

Next To Me has done so well, glad its down to #28 though in a way because now its time for My Kind Of Love. Video released on Friday, and hopefully radio will support, beautiful song. She's also first performer on live show on Voice. So hopefully be seeing it in the top 10 soon :D

Carly keeping off Justin Bieber AND Conor Maynard :o Girl Power much?

Glad Ordinary People still #3

Laser Light is going to have such a huge climb come Sunday, #5 still  What a huge debut for Jessie this has been!

Didn't realise "Burn It Down" was OA/OS here, it's ALREADY beaten the iTunes peak of "The Catalyst" which was held back. Top 10 please.

*buys*

EDIT: Now #32.
