SO happy to see Maroon 5 this high.

Goodness me NOVEMBER 2004 was a fantastic time for hitmaking according to today!

It's outselling it because sales were higher last year than earlier in the century. If it had 7 weeks at number 2 in 2008 it would not have been this high. /waits for someone to puncture his point
It Wasn't Me  Thank God this has held MLJ at bay, so there's 2 good songs in the top 5 instead of just Adele.
well I didn't expect this to be in the top 10 of the century when I first heard about it, nor the top 10 of the week for that matter

Me neither. I remember I listened to it on Youtube after they performed it on The Voice, and I thought "hmmmm", then went on with my daily life.

Then about 6 weeks later I was in the dentist and they had Radio 2 on, and they had Moves Like Jagger playing, and I thought "Wow, wasn't expecting to ever hear this on the radio!".

Now I just feel so stupid.

05. Shaggy (feat. Rik'Rok) - It Wasn't Me

Peak // #1 (2001)

Oh, Shaggy, still sounds so good to this day. The highest male without the help of charity, or talent shows? Once again, not great with facts. This and 'Angel' were both big #1s over 2000 and 2001, but it's this cheeky track that has stood the test of time, and is remarkably in the top 5 sellers of the millenium. What a classic.

WTF? This is awful.

its unbelievable how big Shaggy was in 2001 :o very much of his time it seems

nonetheless, I love this, so tongue in cheek and distinct

It was a bit of a shock back in 2001 as well, given he had been dropped by his record company the year before and not had a bit hit for 5/6 years and then BOOM came back with 2 number 1 singles and a number 1 album!

1 week at #1 and made the Top 5 of the Century.

I remember hearing it on Radio 2 all time too, along with Melanie C's Think About It. So I thought that it would probably flop because on Radio 2 were playing it and no-one else was. :P Now it's sold over 1 million and Melanie C has sold over 1k!

You never hear It Wasn't Me on the radio these days, I'm surprised it sold so many copies :o However I do like the song

I Gotta Feeling

Ok, this got overplayed to death, but WOW was this song a Summer 2009 tune :D It stuck around forever...played loads at New Year and well into 2010 too!

And, erm, at my uncle's wedding disco last summer

04. Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling

Peak // #1 (2009)

2009 really was an incredible year for Black Eyed Peas, notching up 3 #1s with 'Boom Boom Pow', 'Meet Me Halfway', and this in between. But, it's clear which was the most successful - as simple lyrically as this may be, it's undoubtedly a party classic already, and the track everyone will remember Black Eyed Peas for.

Just 2001 Rob, this was released in March 01 and Angel June 01.

They have 10 minutes to play 3 songs and talk with someone - this is going to go beyond 7 o'clock! Oh well, Bieber's inteview can wait!
