Funny how tastes can differ so wildly! I loon for these girls, but this is one of my least favourite efforts from them. They've had 13 singles so far, and I'd rank this as 12th (maybe 11th on a good day). I just find it falls rather flat compared to the majority of their output.

 

I want them to get another Top 10, but #1 with this? Hmm.

A song that spends more than two weeks in the top 10, sells more than 300K (which only Higher, Ego and Up have done anyway) and actually sticks around the charts/radio for months and becomes a proper smash hit. I still can't believe All Fired Up opened on 70K sales at #30 and ended up with only six weeks in the top 40 and 220K sales. It was so frontloaded. :(

Issues spent 4 weeks in the top 10, and would probably have sold over 300,000 in today's sales climate to be fair.

It started charting in 2008, when sales were much lower than now: 55-44-36-27-6-4-5-9-12-16-26-27-32-35-39-58-75-74

 

Forever is Over was probably their worst chart run: 2-8-14-23-37-39-49-65

This is probably one of my least favourite songs of their aswell. Work was their worst chart run of course, but it showed stability.

I always felt like 'Higher' should have been bigger than it was. Don't get me wrong, #10 and 300K sales isn't something to laugh at, but I just feel like it should have been massive. The whole intro with Flo saying their names and the 'wotcha doin' Saturday, girl?' thing, the video, the pure pop chorus. Classic Saturdays.

Wow The Saturdays have actual fans?! Surprising. :D

 

I'm no hater, but i don't want "30 Days" to go to number 1. I'm still surprised Ego didn't hit the top, it's a great little pop tune IMO. :wub:
