May 20, 201214 yr 'We Are Young' is such an incredible track, but I'm still glad 'R.I.P.' managed a second week at the summit, one week wouldn't have done it enough justice. People really shouldn't rule the former out of reaching #1 next week though, it all depends how well The Wanted hold up/if they even reach #1 on iTunes in the first place. A second consecutive week at #2 wouldn't exactly be a bad thing for Fun. though - it's already jumped 3 places this week and re-peak, and will continue to collect sales for months to come.

May 20, 201214 yr I'm not getting the fuss about We Are Young. RIP is over rated too. "We Are Young" I can see the fuss over, but I don't rate it much myself. "RIP" is boring, the only interesting thing about it being the sample, but it would be great to see a UK #1 run of: "Young", "RIP", "We Are Young". :P
May 20, 201214 yr I think today's chart has shown once and for all that the Saturday's are the most over-hyped act the charts have seen in recent years. We are constantly told by the label and the fans that they are a major, big-selling act...yet every release follows the same pattern: the song gets released, the die-hard fans buy it numerous times and it gets a good mid-week placing...then the momentum burns out and the general public aren't interested, the song gets a low top10 placing, then drops down the chart.

I disagree, because they have numerous songs (Notorious, Issues, Higher, Ego, Work) that don't follow that pattern, and the only place I really see hype for them is this forum tbh.
