Please, Please can Stooshe increase Black Heart to 99p :( There's a 99p version at #87 also, WTF

15. Adam Lambert - Never Close Our Eyes (Dropping already, it's peaked)

Because the Album is out - there's a 2nd version hovering just outside the top 100

Lee, a 99p version of Black Heart being Top 100 kinda gives the impression that the song is a genuinely big hit and would be performing around the same regardless (ala Need You Now), no? That, coupled with the fact that it's not even in the 59p songs section on iTunes (so therefore not being advertised on the cheap price tag). Whether you like it or not, Black Heart isn't going anywhere! :P

It probably needed the 59p tag to begin with but I think it'd continue to do just as well if put back now. They've got Heart on board in a big way.

It's not iTunes who decides which songs get the 59p price tag is it? I always thought it was the label because it's normally to get more sales out of the big songs and also to bring the artist back into people's minds for an upcoming single/album releases. Some probably will be due to iTunes though but probably more the older ones.
I think he released it early because he's up against Nas (in the US). I think it's better this way, since both have a better chance at getting #1 now, like they deserve! :D

I would think that Frank has a lower chance of getting #1 now as the album is only available digitally atm and his physical release is not set for a few weeks (I think it's the same week he was originally meant to release the album). He will still probably stay selling strongly digitally when the physical is released but I'm not sure if he'll get the number 1 anytime soon. Maybe in the upcoming months though... (:P Wishful thinking)

Well, it says on iTunes itself that they choose what gets discounted!!

The label can discount songs themselves, but it doesn't get put in that 59p section on iTunes (a current example of this is Black Heart by Stooshe, it's 59p, but not in the 59p section, so that means the label decided to have it cheaper, not iTunes).

If the record labels were discounting the songs, they'd be absolute idiots to discount Moment 4 Life instead of Pound the Alarm, or to discount Titanium instead of I Can Only Imagine, or to discount Wild Ones instead of Whistle (and a plethora of other examples).

Every time, iTunes seems to discount a mixture of old classics, upcoming hits, current/recent big hits, and a mixture of genres. I guess they do that so hopefully everybody will have at least one song that they want from the selection.

I don't really care where he charts in the UK tbh. But if that's the case in the US aswell, that's a shame. He should've postponed to the week after Nas then. :( Although we can always hope he has enough longevity to get #1 at a later time but RnB albums usually peak first week with sales and then they crash the weeks after that.

Yeah, but its always the same artists getting discounted, it just seems a bit unfair on some other artists if it is just iTunes. Plus, the labels won't want to discount newer songs if they currently have potential to do well (Pound the Alarm) as its giving them more money :)

I'd imagine when iTunes do their 59p selections, they still pay the record labels the same amount of money per sale that they would do if it was at full price. That way they can discount whatever songs they want, without having to consult each record label about each song.

Yeah, it does seem to be the same artists (and songs) a lot tbh. I don't mind though, as it's a lot of my favourites that get discounted! :D Maybe complain to iTunes about it.

The chart on Sunday is going to be unbearable

32. Jessie J - Domino

34. Lmfao - Sexy & I Know It

Please Enter the top 40 this week

41. Eminem & Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie (Just downloaded it, actually don't have the song on my iphone)

60. B.o.b & Taylor Swift - Both Of Us

69. Ben Howard - The Fear

89. Far East Movement - Turn Up The Love

92. Nicki Minaj & Drake - Moment 4 Life

According to my predictions, we're only due 2 new no.1 singles between now and September. Wings and Party (How We Do). Who do you think will top the charts in September and set the mood for the final quarter of the year.

Hopefully Gaga if she's releasing in September!!

'Moment For Life' is definitely one of Nicki's best, I think it's pretty much a masterpiece of its genre.

Yes! A modern masterpiece, from two of the biggest artists on the planet

Love the Way You Lie  #41 - imagine hearing this on the chart show again this week!?!? :w00t: Will probably miss out tho!

I read on another forum there is no Gaga single for Sept :(

Nothing's confirmed yet, but i hear a new single is pretty much guarenteed by the end of this year. I was hoping September so she could perform it to me at the BTWBall :kink:

Ben Howard - The Fear  #69  Absolutely love this song! Glad it's back

93. Thinkin Bout You - Frank Ocean :o

MASTERPIECE.

19. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now

33. Lmfao - Sexy & I Know It

37. Rizzle Kicks - Mama Do The Hump

40. Eminem & Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie :cheer:

43. Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69

58. B.o.b & Taylor Swift - Both Of Us

88. Far East Movement & Coverdrive - Turn Up The Love

They're all starting to catch up on Florence now. Boo. Hiss. Maroon 5. Etc.

They were a bit earlier, but Florence is pulling ahead again in the latest update. Just random fluctuations, I think F+TM should be fine until the weekend which is a bit make-or-break for them. Another iTunes-but-not-official #1 would just be taking the piss. Don't let us down here Great British Public!

Well, looks like Need You Now will actually re-peak this week. Maybe if I keep saying this I'll 'jinx' it again though. It's the most I can do

Yay at the 59p-related climbs for Mama Do The Hump, If You Wanna, The Fear, Dream Catch Me and Californication :cheer: Also Sexy And I Know It and Love The Way You Lie to some extent. Summer Of '69 could get close to its original peak (and pull further ahead as the highest selling non-top 40 hit of all time (assuming it is that already, would be surprising if it wasn't), though it'll probably be boosted into the top 40 for some reason one of these days anyway).

'If You Wanna' poised to overtake 'No Hope' very soon (56 and 48 respectively). 'No Hope' surely would have got them a third high-to-mid-30s smash if it has been added at 59p?

'Moment For Life' is alright, just a little bit dull and bleh. I don't get why it's so loved within her stuff. :(

Thank God that shrieking woman isn't gaining much more for now. Hopefully Maroon 5 hold on for another week. Don't think I could handle Florence being the official number 1. Very surprised at 'Need You Now' still really high up! Very nice to see Frank Ocean in the top 100 with 'Thinkin' About You' too
