July 24, 201214 yr That seems unlikely in the extreme, given the sales climate, plus the fact that rap albums rarely sell well in the UK at the best of times. True, Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne - one of the most anticipated collaboration album if you like, and it only sold 30k.
July 24, 201214 yr Stooshe 'Black Heart' #4  @FutureCut Black Heart midweeks at no 4... 5 weeks and going nowhere!!! Loving sharing my first 'proper' hit with you guys!! x x x x x x https://twitter.com/MissJoPerry/status/227763484560084992
July 24, 201214 yr True, Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne - one of the most anticipated collaboration album if you like, and it only sold 30k. Given that Plan B might barely need 10k for #1 this week, he should manage *that* at least.
July 24, 201214 yr Rihanna #03?! It's just an assumption from the Rock Sound report. Although, even if it is true, I doubt it will be as high as that on the official chart.
July 24, 201214 yr It's just an assumption from the Rock Sound report. Although, even if it is true, I doubt it will be as high as that on the official chart. Talk That Talk has been discounted to around £3.99 on iTunes and in stores has it not? That would explain it's climb.
July 24, 201214 yr Talk That Talk has been discounted to around £3.99 on iTunes and in stores has it not? That would explain it's climb. Yeah, I think it has, but I still wouldn't have expected it to be as high as number 3.
July 24, 201214 yr Stooshe - Black Heart is number 4 on the midweek chart Source: https://twitter.com/#!/search/midweeks Edited July 24, 201214 yr by Fully Gassed
July 24, 201214 yr That seems unlikely in the extreme, given the sales climate, plus the fact that rap albums rarely sell well in the UK at the best of times. Really? But didn't Plan B's first album sold around 1.000.000?
July 24, 201214 yr Really? But didn't Plan B's first album sold around 1.000.000? Given it peaked at #30 and has only had 3 weeks in the chart I'd be very surprised if it has :D
July 24, 201214 yr Really? But didn't Plan B's first album sold around 1.000.000? As far as I'm aware, The Defamation of Strickland Banks was more of a soul album, rather than rap. And if it is mainly rap, it just makes that album on of the rare occasions! :D
July 24, 201214 yr As for singles, Conor's sales I reckon are frontloaded so Florence can get a 3rd week at #1. Wow, who'd have thought?!
July 24, 201214 yr Given it peaked at #30 and has only had 3 weeks in the chart I'd be very surprised if it has :D Sorry, I was talking about his 2nd album, not first. My bad :P As far as I'm aware, The Defamation of Strickland Banks was more of a soul album, rather than rap. And if it is mainly rap, it just makes that album on of the rare occasions! :D Yeah, but still, I'm seeing a lot of hype for it. Edited July 24, 201214 yr by Carlos V
July 24, 201214 yr That seems unlikely in the extreme, given the sales climate, plus the fact that rap albums rarely sell well in the UK at the best of times. Do you have a very short or a very selective memory?
July 24, 201214 yr I don't see why there's any reason to doubt Rihanna wouldn't be at number 3. Discounting pushed it up to #6 last week and it was only about 1k off #2, there's no real reason why her sales wouldn't be static this week, 10k should definitely put her above the 5 albums ahead last week.
July 24, 201214 yr think American Slang was No3 in midweeks as well wasn't it? Handwritten is a great album that I bought myself but it's obviously frontloaded which might keep it out of the top 10 shame as these guys deserve to break big over here and in the US, AS was top 20 in the Billboard chart so maybe Handwritten might give them their first US top ten album I'm a huge fan of Gaslight - personally think they are one of the best bands around and I'd love to see them get the success they deserve with Handwritten (which is fantastic). The album is holding up on itunes which may be a sign that they can hold on for the week - I don't expect it to be number 2 but a top 10 album would be incredible for them - and may encourage them to come over and do more dates!!
July 25, 201214 yr Talk That Talk has been discounted to around £3.99 on iTunes and in stores has it not? That would explain it's climb. It's been reduced back to £6.99 for the last couple of days.
July 25, 201214 yr Plan B would be lucky to score 30 k IMO given the current album sales state... Edited July 25, 201214 yr by Big Mistake
July 25, 201214 yr Stooshe 'Black Heart' #4  https://twitter.com/MissJoPerry/status/227763484560084992 It's interesting that Stooshe's manager and producer consider it their first "proper" hit. I thought Love Me was big enough.
