July 14, 201214 yr Much better playlist than Radio 1 has at the moment, albeit with quite a few more older songs - R.I.P, Domino and Too Close being the biggest offenders! But great to see 'Brokenhearted' :wub:, Blow Me, Under The Sun, How We Do and Good Time on there!

It's true, there's a lot of songs that they "playlist", but they hardly ever actually play, e.g. Rumour Has It, Talk That Talk, Forgiveness, You Need Me, Traveller's Chant, Level Up, etc. It's very annoying.
July 14, 201214 yr I could explain about how Radio 1's playlist blows this out the water with ease, but it'd be too easy The only 'surprise' song on the list is Finale, but I doubt they actually play it that much. Overall, most commercial radio stations really need to start varying their playlists, and add more lesser-known songs. At this point, i'm starting to question whether Capital will ever drop Domino from their playlist :P Also, I think we can now safely include Good Time on the "Future No.1's" list

It's also very hard to believe that this very station was playing songs like I Can Transform Ya by Chris Brown, Baby By Me by 50 Cent, Video Phone by Beyonce, and so on only a few years ago!! Now it's basically turned into a dance-pop station, and I'm sure wouldn't touch any of those songs now. It used to playlist pretty much everything that went top 10 on iTunes without question (back when it was called Galaxy FM), but now it doesn't lol. They worst radio station of all is Heart FM though. July 14, 201214 yr Capital and Heart are owned by the same company I think... They've taken over a bunch of radio stations over recent years and re-branded them either of the two. Which would explain why your 'Galaxy FM' (now turned Capital) and my 'SGR FM' (now turned Heart) have recently become awful. Apparently they only need to pay royalties once per day or something per song, so would explain why they don't live up to their claims of playing variety! If they can get away with playing a song on average over 8 times per day (as with Call Me Maybe), that could save them a bit of cash! :(

And, for it to still be a Top 10 most played is ridiculous. Infact, more than half of that list isn't particularly 'fresh'. I prefer more of the music on Capital's playlist than I do to Radio One's, however, hands down, I can say I'd rather listen to Radio One. I like a bit of things being different, or a bit newer, rather than the same old 'been hearing this non stop for 5 months stuff'. Although I'll never get bored of Starships :kink:

July 16, 201214 yr Terrible playlist - the fact that they only playlisted Spectrum when it went to mid week no1 symbolises that stations lack of 'risk taking' in there playlist additions!!
