Taylor will be getting a Top 3 with this, if not #1. It's SO catchy, and SO poppy... not even a hint of country in it really.

She's hardly irrelevant in the same way Christina, J-Lo etc. were before getting their surprise smashes. She might not have had single success but SpeakNow and Fearless both sold decently, and WANEGBT has a very commercial sound that I'm sure she'll get a hit with. I just hope she releases it ASAP, or you will actually be right and momentum will be lost and she'll have nothing much bigger than Mine on her hands.

I wouldn't mention Christina, don't want to start that debate again :P You do have a fair point though, I suppose having 'Both Of Us' recently in the chart as well as her Hunger Games tracks (even though they flopped) means she is in the public consciousness to some extent which is more than could be said for JLo. But then JLo has had several big hits in the past whereas Taylor has only ever had one hit and even then it was hardly an Earth-shattering one, for WANEGBT to become a big hit she's going to have to bring in a lot of new fans. The change in musical direction might do that though. Like I said, I was probably a bit too quick to judge.

If it is released soon then we'll see who's right before long anyhow :P

I'd say she's in a similar boat to Train (obviously without the amount of years of experience they've had). But yeah, I really cannot see this missing the top 3 (number 1 is a very likely possibility at the moment, but like I said I'll be shocked if it debuts there and doesn't actually climb there).
Apparently, there are rumours going around that Taylor Swift and her company have brought the 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' release date forward to this Sunday! It's going to be huge. It won't debut at number 1, but I'm expecting a fun. 'We Are Young' sort of run for it.

I hope you're right!

Buzz will get her Top 10 I imagine, but she'll get #1/Top 3 when she's on radio/video I guess.

Somewhere Iz is weeping for you saying that about Coverdrive James.

He's right though, probably the worst/most overhyped new act of the last year.

Yep. I'd assume so. I'm expecting something like a climb of 9-4-2-3-1-2-2-4 or something similar. (I'm not saying that is the run it will get, just a vague idea of how I'm expecting it to look.)
Cover Drive performing on X Factor would actually be such a joke, I can't wait to see their intro. "ONE NUMBER ONE SINGLE (with zero longevity), 50 ALBUMS SOLD, COVER DRIVE".

It would be a bit of a joke but the intro would probably be "NUMBER ONE SINGLE", "THREE DEBUT TOP TEN SINGLES", "TOURED WITH RIHANNA", "COVER DRIVE".

Don't forget youtube hits. XF loved using them last year!

I love how they can make everything sound better just by having Peter Dickson shout them at you

Having checked out several other countries iTunes charts this afternoon I noticed Taylor Swift was doing incredibly well in quite a few different iTunes charts so maybe getting this released now might be a wise move. Even if it doesn't get to no. 1, if it's "catchy" as others are making out (I'm going to YouTube this after :D ) then it could well be successful like 'Starships' was - not a #1 but great longevity.

Taylor's song seems to be doing even better than Starships worldwide (Starships never went to #1 anywhere), so you never know.

I'm still not too sure though. It could be like with Britney Spears last year where she was successful in the most of the world but not so much in the UK.

Good lord, I'm praying that Taylor Swift song flops. It's embarrassing, and the song title is just...well, I can't even begin-

I don't see the problem with the title? It's long, yes, but it's just a name. A song title shouldn't make you dislike a song?

Really hoping Taylor's released this Sunday! I've got a good feeling about this. :D

The song title (it's just RIDICULOUS and childish) doesn't make me dislike it. The fact the song is extremely shite makes me dislike it.

That's fine, but I've also seen other comments about the title. Never judge a book by its cover and all that.

Or Madonna...or was she unsuccessful everywhere?

Pretty much! Italy and Hungary seemed to like MDNA though, smash
