September 16, 201214 yr I'm glad PSB got that top 10 album in the end, I was thinking it would drop just outside the top 10.
September 16, 201214 yr me too, the album deserves to be a top 10...and I´m still surrpised with Bob dylan´s success
September 16, 201214 yr Shame Amelia didn't quite make the top spot but she's still done so well with this single so far :D
September 16, 201214 yr So glad the XX are number one! :D Not good to see The Vaccines fall #1-#6, praying it can stabilise. Nice to see Plan B still Top 10 and a big climb for Alt-J – will be nice to see it reach the Top 10 if they win the Mercury Album Prize. And I see Nothing but the Beat 2.0 is counted separately to the original, just like I though as it is missing tracks from the original. Re-entries for Mumford and Sons and Cheryl! :cheer: Nicki Minaj and Train falling out of the Top 40 albums :( Nicki Minaj might be able to re-enter with her new single out soon. WOW at David Guetta’s original of Nothing but Beat falling down to #99! Great to see Adele’s One and Only enter the charts for the first time at #99. :D
September 16, 201214 yr Quite surprised The xx actually beat The Script's album to #1! I suppose Coexist did have loads of hype around it, but I thought with Script being big album sellers + new hit single that they'd snatch it :o On the other hand, i'm glad Hall of Fame kept that repetitive drivel off #1 in the singles. Even better seeing Tulisa flop
September 16, 201214 yr Shame Amelia missed out on the number 1 but i do like the script, i would have been hated if it was ne yo that went number 1.
September 16, 201214 yr Hmm Elysium #9.. Top ten but still.. Should've gone top 5 on these sales levels. Such a shame that it will be their lowest selling album as it's much better than Bilingual and Nightlife for example.
September 16, 201214 yr 96 14 02 Matchbox Twenty North Ouch! And gutted at Mel C entering at #50  Really thought with the current low sales and the recent SG Olympic performance that this would easily go Top 20
September 16, 201214 yr Ouch! And gutted at Mel C entering at #50  Really thought with the current low sales and the recent SG Olympic performance that this would easily go Top 20  Yes far far too huge of a drop for Matchbox 20 and im also so disappointed to see Mel C drop from #21 in the midweeks to end up offically number 50
September 16, 201214 yr Melanie C's last album 'The Sea' was an underrated masterpiece... It should've been very successful... This new album is ok but 'The Sea' could have really gotten her back in the limelight.... Glad that Tulisa didn't reach the top 10 with her lame song, same goes for The killers whose latest song is way too average.... 'Elysium' by the PSB should've been released a few weeks ago and gotten to Number 1 with those sales....even though it's IMHO their worst album to date.... September 17, 201214 yr Interesting to see the difference in no1 on the singles and album charts - XX album beats the script on the albums and the Script is no1 on the singles whereas Angels just misses the singles top 40 (which im gutted about), just shows the ages groups that buy albums and singles these days!!
It shows nothing about the age groups. All it shows is that more fans of The XX purchased their album this week, and more people wanted to purchase Hall Of Fame individually this week than Angels. (I like both tracks by the way) The Script already have 2 high selling albums as well, and I doubt #3 will be in much of a different position!
September 17, 201214 yr I would say though that most fans of a band like the script would be people who would download singles whereas fans of the XX will have waited for the new album and purchased the cd. Theres no evidence to totally prove this but i would say there is some sort of truth to it because of the type of music the 2 bands make!
