Wait what would Bill have been called? First Man sounds crap.

I was wondering this too. First Gentleman probably.

Hillary's speech further cemented to me that she would have won this. Such class, passion, emotion, hope and power. Tears.

She won the popular vote - that final speech was everything you need in a leader.

I feel for the US today, and soon for the world.

That's my struggle with situations like this... the bashing of people who simply have different agendas and priorities. Quite a few of Trump's policies are indeed horrendous and have miniscule merit in them, but that's not to say every single thing he stands for is wrong. And please don't hate, because I am pretty ambivalent when it comes to politics.

Well speaking for myself, I am fine to let people hold whatever opinion they see fit to hold, and they are free to express it. But I am free to not respect that and think that it's idiotic. Especilly when said opinion is one that is completely disrespectful and disgusting towards minority groups, including one that I belong to, I am not going to just sit and say "oh fair enough". I cannot support or respect a campaign and leader who's rise to popularity was buoyed by hatred and discrimination, feeding on the unfounded fears that all immigrants are a danger to society with bullshit rhetoric. And it's not like the Republicans don't get the knickers in a twist at the mere mention of a bit of tightening on gun laws to stop schools being shot up by the madmen who easily get a gun from Walmart...

(just heard the speech) Hillary makes me so proud to be a woman. I still can't believe America didn't give her this chance

The 18-25 vote only.

No surprise. The younger generation is getting f***ed royally globally by older generations acting in their own self interests while pretending what they are doing is for our own good. If we wanted it, we'd vote for it. We get left to pick up the pieces of a mess we didn't create and didn't vote for.

It's honestly no wonder apathy among millenials is so high

I'd like to apologize for my actions last night, I was very heated! Still love you all.

This, Exactly. For everyone who claims she is cold and distant that speech proved for once and for all that she is nothing of the sort. So dignified and hopeful, she hasn't made it but this shouldn't discourage other women from trying. I think the best legacy for her would be someone to be inspired today, by her, to run and to win. It's probably going to happen too, I just hope it doesn't take decades when it was so, so, so close.

I'm not ashamed to say I cried rather a lot when watching. She's one of my very favourite human beings and I think she would have been incredible in vase I haven't said it enough in this thread. It's all so very, very sad.

As HRC just said. Their day will come, older people will die eventually and the electorate will become much more inhospitable for the likes of Trump and Brexit. We just have to make sure the people invested and involved in this stay that way in 2018, 2020 and beyond. Getting discouraged now only makes it that much longer than we have to deal with this sort of crap.

Trump's taste in flower displays won't be as good in the White House

I think we should all calm down and be friends here now. I hold out the olive branch to you all.

Had to laugh at a post on another forum. "All we need now to end the year is Honey G winning the X Factor" Lol.
they really do need to get sorted a way of voting which categorises different age groups and rewards them for how they'll suffer / gain from the outcome. i hate the thought of 70+ stuck in their way straight white males having the same vote as a kid who will soon have to deal with the ramifications of a trump presidency when he'll be immune to a lot of what is and isn't passed soon anyway. it's totally not fair and makes me so uncomfortable to see that map in particilar

The Hpney G odds have bern slashed!

Where is the speech? Cnn has the text and clips only.

The sad faces of Hillary and especially Bill might be too much right now.

and by 'rewards them' i mean like more vote points / less vote points. it may put older voters off voting but good lol

You supported a white supremacist so you can shove that olive branch until you apologise

Only problem is the minute you start saying one groups vote counts for more you end up with a system that's unfair and open to massive abuse by those seeking to keep control.

The outcome f***ing sucks and the walking dead ruin f***ing everything but unfortunately the answer isn't gerrymandering to favour those who'll actually live with the affects (even if that is a logical sounding thing to do)
