Girls Aloud could easily be as low as #4 next week. Olly, Rudimental and Alicia will all be challenging for #1 as well, I could see it being any of them (more likely Olly or GA than the other two but still). They almost certainly won't be miles ahead.

Fair play to 1D now looking like getting #1, it's more than a bit of a surprise but then this is how well I thought LWWY was going to do so I guess their major success was just delayed by a single for some reason! I still haven't even heard the song.

Bruno has really severely underperformed though. I would say I'm glad but it's growing on me loads now, I actually wouldn't mind it being #1 any more.

You don't want to :puke2:

I guess it was always inevitable that One Direction would get another #1 but I wish I could have been something better than this tripe.

Wasn't Viva La Vida the first cherry picked track to get to #1 from an album release, or did I dream it

oops beaten to it, looks like I was typing my post when the previous member was posting the above.

Great minds think alike? :D

Rudimental? I must have missed that one completely!

One Direction are everything that's wrong with music today. Any other track in the top 40 would be a better no.1.

Considering the lead One Direction have gained on iTunes throughout the week, I find it somewhat pleasing that up to the end of last night they were still 1.5k behind Bruno Mars. That suggests that even with the big lead on iTunes, it can't be selling a massive amount. I'd have thought 'Little Things' would be looking at 120-130k but it might just scrape 100-110k by the end of Saturday.

Also re; Rudimental, I honestly can't see that track doing anything next week compared to 'Feel The Love'. I may be proved wrong but I'm sure it'll be a Girls Aloud/Olly Murs battle for #1 (which everyone has been predicting for weeks) with Alicia Keys looking set for top 5.

Yeah next weeks another exciting one. Here's how i think itll pan out -

1) Olly Murs

2) Girls Aloud

3) 1D

4) Alicia Keys

5) Bruno Mars

6) Little Mix

7) Rudimental

Bruno's doin just fine, he got a early release remember.

Great to see Kylie back up to 20. 3 weeks in the top 20 would be pretty good,

She is on CIN tonight maybe 10-15 mins of her concert in Hyde Park in September being shown....... great publicity as its all her album songs

hopefully will get her maybe up a couple more spots before Sunday....

I am guessing her performance on Strictly will be shown on Sunday? or will she be on tomorrow? That should help sales next week, when even more big new releases will put pressure on a top 40 spot for Kylie......

She will do Royal Variety next week also which will be shown beginning of December in UK... fingers crossed she will sing 'On a night like this'

Then also in December she is performing with Rod Stewart on his TV special.... so wish they could release a random Xmas song on itunes! :)

Re: Rudimental, I'm swaying to agree with you, and I don't think Alicia will go top 5, I just picture a No Doubt scenario, should make the top 10 though.

No Doubt didn't even make the top 200 post-X Factor performance so you surely can't picture a "No Doubt scenario"?

I've decided to finally listen to the One Direction song. The song is okay, I'm not sure if I'll listen to it again though. I agree it sounds very Ed Sheeran. I prefer it to The A Team, but I think it's worse than Lego House. My favourite One Direction song is still Gotta Be You.

The single release date of Little Things is on 9th of December I think, I wonder if it'll get a boost in the charts like One Thing did on its release week. If this song gets to #1 officially this week, it'll be history in the making, the first ever song to be cherry-picked to #1 on album release week! Previous high was #3 last year, Best Thing I Never Had by Beyonce. Obviously both songs had the benefit of having live TV performances and radio airplay before the album got released however. I wonder when the first non-promoted album track will manage it, if it ever happens at all.

Does that count though considering that LT is the 2nd single release and airplay has already started for it?

It was just a clever release strategy. They knew that the fans would lap the album up anyway and a single release a month later would mean the airplay would peak on the busiest sales weeks!

So Rod has a tv special just like Buble did last year, thatll lead to MASSIVE sales the week after. I think his label are following buble exactly from last year. Wonder if xmas albums will be the norm in the coming years just like in america.

Doubtfull - its been alisted on radio 1 and she's in the uk this week - so im sure she'll be on somewhere, maybe even XF this weekend!

I can see it yes....

buble is actually performing with Rod to on the show!!

She is performing this week. Both her and Olly. I've had a couple of people ask me about Alicia Keys and telling me they like that song and stuff actually.
Gutted that Steps are down to #28 :drama: Really thought this would go Top 20 easily!
:D!!!

It should be in the top 5. What massive songs are to come after next week then? (im wondering if the Power of Love could get a week at no1!?)

15mins of Kylie Proms in the Park coming up on BBC1 very soon. thats at least 4 songs and could generate quite a few sales tomorrow and keep her top 20

Not a lot:

Kelly Clarkson – Catch My Breath

Ne-Yo – Forever Now

Pink - Try

Tulisa - Sight Of You

'Catch My Breath' looks very likely to go top 10 :D

They're the only ones I can see doing anything (within the top 40) but Olly, GA and Alicia have their respective albums out that week too, so they'll have more entries to help them hold up and stabilise. GA's 'Beautiful Cause You Love Me' could make an impact due to cherry picks. Kelly Clarkson & McFly have their greatest hits out that week too, but I can't see anything from them getting any sort of effect (I'd like to think Kelly could get 'People Like Us' top 75 - but we know that won't happen LOL)
