You've picked the three worst songs! :P Toxic, Everytime and Gimme More, or something like that it should read!

Ino, i can't at the songs they mentioned as being her best.

Blackout is one of her best albums and her singles from Circus and FF have been fantastic.

On the topic of Britney Spears, 'Hold It Against Me', 'Til The World Ends' and 'I Wanna Go' are all decent tracks imo. They just didn't do brilliantly because UK radio were reluctant to champion the songs and give them airplay. There's only so much impact having your video played on The Box can do. Since 'Telephone', which felt more a film premier than an exclusive first play, I don't think any new music video release has had that level of exposure upon its release.
I'm genuinely confused by the success of Scream & Shout. I dislike majority of the music that clutters the top of the charts but can still understand/appreciate (almost) why they sell so well. There is absolutely nothing to this. Tuneless. No promo either? And Britney hasn't exactly been massive for the past five or so years? Baffling.

Your answer is that it sounds brilliant in a club. :D

And Joseph, you are right, Everytime is probably the best Britney song.

I think people forget it is actually a Will.I.AM song and most of his songs do well over here Britney only features on it he could of got anyone randomer to sing on it and it would still do well here also Capital have been hammering a lot on radio as well.

Its had decent video support which is very important for artists like britney spears and those that follow her like katy perry. It guarantees them top 40 hit after hit! Thats why 5th singles from them sorts of artist always chart somewhere in the top 40!

I wouldn't say its Britney that's selling Scream & Shout, its mainly Will.i.am - I genuinely wouldn't have known it was her singing without the name check in the song or the fact that I knew beforehand. Her part could've been sung by absolutely anyone and it probably would still be doing well due to radio/TV support...lets just be honest for a minute here. Not that I really understand how this complete non event could really appeal to that many people at all
They flopped because they had NO support. will.i.am has thankfully put Britney back in the spotlight, hopefully ready for her next era!

I'm hoping it'll have the same impact as Moves Like Jagger has for Christina Aguilera.

*Waits patiently for the Spice Girls to start zooming up the iTunes singles and albums charts :kink:  *
youre all just talking abt. iTunes though right? What about the physical single? Isnt that where most of the sales have been for the 2 top songs the past few weeks?

IMO it's a combination of the two names, but Britney has surely been of at least some help. The song has taken off in shitloads of countries where Will generally flops - this can surely be accounted for by the presence of Brit. The "Britney effect" has probably not been as large here as it has been elsewhere (and if this were a Britney single it would probably be only a moderate hit here right now) but I'm sure she's helped sell it. I really don't believe 'T.H.E' or 'This Is Love' would have hit #1 on iTunes with a (kinda) OA/OS release.

#94 - Viva Forever <3

This song is so gorgeous, deserves to be seen as one of the classics of the 90's.

Wait what, why is 'Viva Forever' back? Pleased to see it though. Their only good song but it's a very good song.

 to #89 anyway.

PSY  to #5 and #18, I think the gift card effect must be starting now. iTunes will obviously freeze tomorrow but PSY could well be back at #1 on iTunes when it unfreezes I reckon.

Do you live on the moon :P Spice Girls have just had a 1.30 hour documentary about their past and the new musical aired on ITV 1 from 8.30pm.

#81 + 1080 - Viva Forever

Because of their ITV show.

Does iTunes usually freeze on Christmas Day? I seem to recall logging on last Christmas day when Lego House and Sexy And I Know It had significant boosts.

Worst Britney Spears ballads titles 'Everytime'.

Both VALID lists? :D

On the subject of Spice Girls, great to see Viva Forever leading the way, easily their best single imo!

I wouldn't call them fantastic in terms of her music or in terms of music in general. 'Hold It Against Me' was average at best and the other two singles were extremely poor in comparison to her early music - which, for the most part, wasn't even that great.

I'm both shocked and not shocked by the success of S&S. I'm shocked in the sense that it's a record that lacks any sort of substance and relies on a painfully simple melody and a gimmicky British accent. Also, Will.i.am's solo material has been dreadful ever since the day he started in 2007. Again, Britney's not been relevant since 2008 and she's resorted to generic run-of-the-mill club music. But then I'm not shocked because crap music like this has been selling for the past few years at least.
