Booo.

Well, it has climbed from 6 to 3 and very close to number 2 sales wise I reckon, so not that far off to be hilarious?!

Yes but some people claimed it was inevitable and a no-brainer.

As compensation for the police/government cover-up?

No, to cover the legal costs of fighting the case over the years I believe.

I'm more interested in James' sales since it was obvious he was #1 :) Good to see his song is still popular though. Hope it has a good run for an x factor single :D

It's not going to help them or bring their loved ones back or stop it happening in the future though.

I can't help but think Scream & Shout will be one of those records which annoyingly peaks at #2 for quite a few weeks without ever making #1. I hope it manages it somehow.

I think it'll be #2 next week again, but maybe the week after it'll get there. There's not really anything on the release schedule that looks like it'll challenge for #1 (just Vato Gonzalez and 50 Cent maybe getting top 10 hits), so Scream & Shout might get it.

Scream and Shout definitely continuing to grown on me; wouldn't mind it reaching number one next week.
Happy New Year everyone, thanks for contributing to the chart show thread all year and see you in 2013 :D

Scream And Shout is SUCH A JAM.

WHEN YOU HEAR THIS IN THE CLUB

YOU'RE GONNA TURN THIS SHIT UP

YOU'RE GONNA TURN THIS SHIT UP

YOU'RE GONNA TURN THIS SHIT UP

It's not going to help them or bring their loved ones back.

That's really quite a stupid thing to say. If nothing else it brings even more attention to the fact that these families have fought for justice for years, while all the time being victims of a disgraceful cover up. If the money raised goes some way towards covering the costs they've incurred, why criticise it?

I just don't understand people's mentality sometimes. I personally don't rate the song, but I completely respect and understand the motive behind it. If people wish to buy it to show their support, good for them. I don't, but I also don't feel the need to be completely insensitive about it.

No, to cover the legal costs of fighting the case over the years I believe.

The original intention was to cover the families' costs at the new inquest. However, the government has now said that they will pay the costs. The proceeds will now be used for any other legal costs which may arise. For example, if the Crown Prosecution Servi ce does not prosecute anyone, the families may try a private prosecution. The money will NOT go direct to the families.

Well done James Arthur! :cheer:

See you all in 2013! :D It's been brilliant to spend my Sunday evenings with all of you over the last two months, and I hope that continues in 2013. Happy new year, Buzzjack! ^_^ :hic:

I don't remember anyone saying that (unless I said it as a joke which is possible).
