January 8, 201312 yr If the rest of the album is as good as Let Us Move On then I will be a happy man. I adore Dido and think she can easily manage a top 10 album. The likes of Katie Melua can manage it, so i think Dido can.
January 8, 201312 yr A Top 40 lead single (where did her previous lead single peak?) and at least Top 5 album would be great! I want another White Flag! I'm pretty sure 'Don't Believe In Love' missed the Top 40 - I'm almost as sure that 'Safe Trip Home' debuted at #2 (what a flop lol). I'm think this album will debut at #2 at the lowest, doubt the single will go Top 100 unless it's something particularly special.

I definitely remember Safe Trip Home debuting at #2, then plummeting afterwards, although because it was Christmas, sales weren't too bad.
January 8, 201312 yr Can't see her doing much to be honest. Think she has had her time and there are other better female artists who have emerged since.

'Don't Believe In Love' peaked at No.54 in November 2008 and spent a single week in the Top 75.
January 8, 201312 yr I think she will manage a pretty debut position with the album but i am not sure about after that, all will depend on how well the lead single does down.
January 8, 201312 yr I never thought she was dull until her 3rd album (Safe From Home or something?) which really didn't have much going for it. Life For Rent is a superb album and I still listen to it a fair bit. I await to be surprised by her new material and enjoy listening to a bit of Dido again. I could be disappointed though!
January 8, 201312 yr Judging from officially-leaked album track, Let Us Move On, she's gone back to basics and embraced the trip-hop-lite again. Which I'm pleased with as worthy as her attempts to play authentic musician on Safe Trip Home were, the majority was also utterly drab (albeit with moments of utter beauty - Grafton Street and The Day Before The Day rank amongst her very best). It's not the most dynamic of listens, but then that's not why people listen to Dido records in the first place. I do think her time of commercial success is long over though. Although her music isn't a million miles removed from Emily Sandy, where Dido comes up short is that unlike Emily and Adele, she doesn't quite have THE VOICE. She's not a powerhouse performer and she hasn't sounded engaged with her own music for a long time, and it doesn't help that she took five years off when as it was most people hadn't even realised she'd continued in existence post-2003. I think she'll find her place is now strictly on Ministry of Sound Chillout compilations rather than Radio 1 drivetime. Sadly. PREDICTION: Single not top 100. Album scrapes top 10 if she pulls her finger out of her arse, but even then will drop like a stone thereafter, which in this climate will equate to roughly 52 copies sold. Hdbvb8slvSM [
January 11, 201312 yr Won't do anything in the chart, probably will peak Top 40 but I like the simple arrangement!!
January 11, 201312 yr I really like it, but it does answer the topic's question with a firm NO. There is no way in this day and age the track will go top 40. Perhaps the album could be a steady seller in the weak sales climate.
