James Arthur is holding up very well.

I was also surprised to see that Impossible (the James Arthur version) is top 20 on iTunes Australia. Have any other UK winners singles ever charted elsewhere?

I don't know, but I've been noticing since about late 2011 all sorts of things that have been big hits in the UK have done very well in Australia as well. Even artists like Wiley and Rudimental who wouldn't normally see success outside the UK. I seriously think one of the big radio stations over there looks at the UK chart for new songs to playlist or something. It's like how lots of UK artists are having success in the US, but much more extreme. I won't be surprised if Rattle is a hit over there in a few weeks.

Australia also seems to be far ahead of the UK for non-UK music. Thrift Shop has already been to no 1 and now the follow up is no. 1. The follow up Bruno Mars single is in the top 5, CMon by Kesha is top 20, Neon Trees Top 20. All songs which will (probably) only hit the top 20 in the UK in a couple of months.

Whatever radio model they are using to promote these songs must be far more developed then the UK model.

Yeah, US songs tend to be hits there earlier. All of Katy Perry's singles in the past couple of years were hits in Australia like 1-2 months before the rest of the world. E.T. even got to #1 there before the Kanye West remix was announced!

I have a suspicion maybe record labels might release songs in Australia and New Zealand earlier to see if they're well received. Also, I noticed some songs climb the charts really fast there (even though often they don't have music videos because it's so early).

Maybe they have one really dominating radio station there that playlists all the US songs literally as soon as they're announced.

Alicia Keys on Jonathan Ross this weekend performing her new single - Should at least give her another Top 20 hit and a boost to her album.

It's pleasing to see the top version of "Gangnam Style" as low as #32 now. Now that it's near enough at 1 million and spent a gazillion weeks inside the T10, I think it can make a swift exit from the chart now.

118. Rick Ross - 100 Black Coffins

139. Tyga ft. Rick Ross - Dope

Probably the first time ever that Rick Ross has had two songs top 200 on UK iTunes at the same time.

The best surprise of the week is having Dizzee in the top20 with his new tune.

Ellie top40 with an album track is a great thing as well. 'Explosions'

Get Up increasing its lead....nice :D

My Life dropped quite a bit but seems to have stalled and stabilized :D

'Brand New Me'? :o Lovely!

 04. Calvin Harris "Drinking From the Bottle"

 05. Rihanna "Stay"

^ DFTB hasn't run out of steam yet - I'm hoping it can somehow reach #1, or at least #2 in the coming weeks. Regardless it's bound to be a huge seller. "Stay" pulling ahead of Justin and 50 Cent proves it's also here to stay - can't wait to see how the music video'll benefit it. Another #1 for RiRi, I hope.

 6. Animal (feat. Wiley) - Conor Maynard - This could well outpeak Turn Around :o :yahoo:

 7. My Life (feat. Eminem & Adam Levine) - 50 Cent

28. Change Your Life - Little Mix

34. Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

38. Now - Paramore

How high did "Skyfall" (or anything else) get as a pre-order? :o

If it works the way I think, all Paramore's preorders get added to it as soon as it's added for real next month. So if we guess from its position that it could sell about 10k, that'd be enough to propel it into the top 10 virtually straight away when it's properly released.

20. Let It Roll - Flo Rida

47. Forever Now - Ne-Yo

Interesting, these two entered the top 100 (re-entered in the latter's case but still) very close together, with Flo Rida ahead. Then last week they remained very close together as they climbed into the top 40 with Ne-Yo overtaking. Now Flo Rida has got back ahead and much more convincingly than before, looking for anoter big climb while Ne-Yo could drop back out of the top 40 after just one week. Glad to see Flo Rida back ahead anyhow, 'Let It Roll' is by far the better of the two although both are fairly tired rehashes.

71. Get Hyper - Droideka

No idea what this is but it sounds good just from the artist and title.

Definitely, I see no reason why he shouldn't be at #6 this week.

Gangnam Style  #35

I dont know when the last time was when this was so low.

That Paramore song is looking like a strong contender for #1 in the future.
