Hoping it's either Justin Timberlake or will.i.am/Britney at #1 today. I don't really get the appeal of 'My Life', the chorus is so lifeless and raps aren't good enough to override that opinion of the whole song :( I'd rather Justin got to the top as it's a really great song that's different to the everything else doing well at the moment and Scream & Shout has already had a week at #1.

Hmmm, the times when we largely assumed that Adele wasn't all as great as she was being made out...

 

I know this is so close, but I do wish they were three decent songs battling it out - all three are quite poor and not worthy at all of number 1, I guess my favourite would be Justin, not that he has any chance.

 

 

I'm pleased but surprised that both OMN and BATB never really got going. I thought they were both on the verge of exploding for a while but they just fizzled out in the end.

 

S&S or My Life for #1, please. It would be amazing seeing 50 Cent at the top but S&S remains a jam. As long as it's not Justin at #1 I'm happy.

I heard 'Freedom' by Nicki Minaj the other day. It was nice to see her so some more 'serious' rapping again. I understand it was on the Radio 1 playlist a few weeks ago, I don't understand why it flopped. :(

Dizzee's given up on commercial success and the big pop choruses then after his recent underperformances?

 

Yeah, I think that's what it is basically. :lol: 2008-2011 was the perfect time to slay with dance tunes, but it's not quite as easy now I think. I think we'll see other rappers going back to their original genre in the future.

Is the Big Top 40 thread going to be either banned or discouraged on this forum this week, although I supplied the chart for it I don't think it went down particularly well.

 

If people want to know the chart they can look on the BT40 website after 7pm.

I thought and hoped One More Night would be bigger (it was still big anyway though). It's the best Maroon 5 song in ages imo.
