Kendrick Lamar in the top 40 yay! Will definitely be a top 100 hit now and might possibly give Kendrick a new peak (currently #50 on 'F**kin' Problems' 2 weeks ago).

I'm not worried for Love the Way You Lie, because even if James overtakes the song now, it'll just get back in-front later on probably. Matt Cardle overtook its sales too, but LTWYL got back infront after a while.

 

I just want LTWTL it to pass JTWYA eventually.....

I haven't heard 'Thrift Shop' in full, but the clip does not sound good at all. :( Not happy it's knocked 'Get Up (Rattle)' off the top.

 

My current jam is 'Radioactive' - Imagine Dragons one of course, not great that Rita's one is so far ahead now. :(

Great for 'Thrift Shop' but like 'Get Uo (Rattle)' (and 'Gangnam Style' etc...) it's the music video that's selling the song. I think it's bonkers funny and I ususally detest this type of music.

 

As for 'One Way Or Another' being top 30 on iTunes with just pre-order sales...le sigh!!! -_- It might be an ok cover but I shall reserve judgement. It seems after 'LWWY' missed the no. 1, the record company are more determined to ensure every new 1D single is guaranteed to enter at #1 - NU-Westlife (thankfully downloads have put an end to acts just going to no. 1 with every single release - the main advantage to the loss of physical sales imo).

I disagree, Hits. I understand what you mean about 'Gangnam Style' (although it's just as much the dance routine that's selling it, as well as the video itself) and 'Get Up (Rattle)'. But I don't think 'Thrift Shop''s video is actually "that" good, tbh. I personally, am finding that I'm enjoying listening to the song as my mp3 more than I did going to youtube to watch the video (like I did with 'Gangnam Style' a lot of the time). It's just a very charming song I think. It's definitely a grower, for sure.

 

EDIT: Oh and 'Same Love' is just as good, if not better (well it's more instant for me) than TS. So I wouldn't mind seeing that become a second number 1 for them.

I haven't heard it - is it something I might like?
