Looks like Whitney Houston has had a small boost with it being one year since her death today: I Will Always Love You is usually only just in the Top 1000, now it is Top 400.

382. I Will Always Love You

997. I Wanna Dance With Somebody [2000 Remaster]

1169. I Will Always Love You [2000 Remaster]

1285. I Have Nothing

Samia Ghadie skated to IWALY on Dancing On Ice yesterday, so that's helped :P
Darn, "My Number" is rather good and it'll be lovely to hear it in the top 40 but I'd rather it was "Inhaler".

I really hope that Avicii isn't #1, as much as I love the song, you can just tell that it's going to be a one-week wonder. Thrift Shop for #1! :cheer: Or alternatively, you could all buy White Noise instead.

 at Foals going into the Top 40 as well.

Oh, and KILL THE RACISM.

I don't see how vidcapper's comment was racist at all? Unless I'm missing the point here. It's just a reference to a well-known email scam.

I don't guess this thing where people are not wanting songs to get to #1 just because it'd be a 'non-#1'. I'd understand if the #1 song was blocking a much larger hit from reaching #1 (Love The Way You Lie, Moves Like Jagger) but Thrift Shop has already reached #1 so I don't see any reason why Avicii shouldn't get to #1 for this reason.

Unless you don't like the song...

 19. Gabrielle Aplin - Please Don't Say You Love Me

 519. Tegan and Sara - Closer

:ne: 1487. Tegan and Sara - I Was a Fool

:cheer:

GO FOALS. I knew they'd do quite well with this, but #30 so far is amazing!

James Blake  98

Because Avicii's song isn't going to stick around for very long and Thrift Shop is going to stick around for ages, therefore I would prefer a run of 01-01-01 for Thrift Shop instead of 01-02-01! :D

Exactly - plus I did include a big smiley.

Wouldn't you rather have two songs you like go to #1 rather than just one?

I don't see why Avicii would be a non-#1 anyway? I get more 'Don't You Worry Child'-esque vibes from it, could see it hanging around for quite a long time (although not as long as 'Thrift Shop').

James Blake not climbing very fast :( At least he is top 100 now anyway. Have already downloaded it. Deserves to be far, far higher, already my favourite song of the year just days after hearing it for the first time. Hopefully 'Overgrown' will at least peak higher than his debut album.

Not if I want the better song to have a better chart run! :D

I Could Be The One won't stay around for half as long as Don't You Worry Child did at all! I predict that it will spend nine weeks in the Top 40.

I'm rooting for Avicii, that is an anthem and it's gearing me up for my holiday to Ibiza in June where it'll invenitably be everywhere.

I won't be too bitter if it lands at #2 though, that's still great and I like 'Thrift Shop'.

The Avicii song probably won't be quite as big as Don't You Worry Child, but i'm fairly certain it'll have a good chart run

 26. My Number - Foals

 95. Retrograde - James Blake

I don't think Avicii's song will be a "non-#1". It won't be as big as Don't You Worry Child either, it'll sell 300,000 at the absolute minimum imo, which is hardly bad. Avicii's songs usually have consistent chart runs.

Well you're not a Nigerian person are you? so of course you wont see how it was racist.

How does a smiley make it better? I could ask why is a 47 year old man on a website like this and include a  but it would still most likely cause offence to you.
