February 13, 201313 yr I echo these sentiments, but just like everyone else, I have absolutely no idea where those sales have come from? I'm certainly not complaining though! :cheer:The EP, physical and the fact that despite it not showing up, you could still buy the song. You just had to search for it...
February 13, 201313 yr So happy for Gabrielle!! The EP and physical sales must have been loads like everyone is saying! Great to see Tegan and Sara's album at #23 too! :D

February 13, 201313 yr Rather surprised how my fave album of all time, Rumours, is holding up. Expected it to be well out of the Top 20 now. I putting it down to the Valentine's Day effect, just have to see what happens after this week.
February 13, 201313 yr See I was half doubting the people who said Foals would easily beat Les Mis to #1, then "My Number" started doing so well that I assumed they'd be away and gone by this point. 7k should be a big enough lead but this clearly isn't the huge breakthrough people were talking about. Dreadful for Bullet, admittedly the singles are subpar compared to Fever's but this album missing the top 5 just goes to show how few diehard fans they have. It's a sad day when the commercial fortunes of British metal rest on Bring Me The Horizon.
February 13, 201313 yr Considering the MW report says Les Mis are increasing on the week, Foals must be looking at a pretty decent first week if they have a 7k lead, even if they do drop to #2. It'll be more important for 'Holy Fire' to have longevity though. 'Antidotes' went top 3 which is all well and good but it only had 1 week top 10 and 3 weeks top 40. 'Total Life Forever' only had that one week in the top 40. I think 'Holy Fire' could have a chance of holding up well especially if 'My Number' continues to stick around instead of just starting to drop like a brick any day now.
February 13, 201313 yr i only just found out Emilia Mitiku who is at number 15 in the album charts is the same Emilia who released 'Big Big World' way back! awesome No way, I remember that song
February 13, 201313 yr I suppose when you think about it, it's not that surprising that Gabrielle is #3. Her EP sales are obviously sizable and in such a low sales climate they can make a big difference. Will be interesting to see where she ends up on Sunday, if she continues to hover around the lower end of the top 20 on iTunes then I expect she'll only scrape a top 10 placing.
February 13, 201313 yr Hopefully some good sales for Foals if Les Mis is increasing, would love it to stay number one, just depends on how much extra the latter sells today/tomorrow!
February 14, 201313 yr Thrilled to bits to read Emilia Mitiku is the same Emilia behind the fantastic big big world, surprisingly her album flopped on the back of quiet a big single and this time round she has no hit single but the album is charting so much better. Having Richard Clayderman still top 30 is also fantastic, just a shame Kimberley Walsh is not top 40, im dreading how far she will have dropped now.
February 14, 201313 yr no let up in all the sh!t records getting to no.1 so far this year then
February 14, 201313 yr Dreadful for Bullet, admittedly the singles are subpar compared to Fever's but this album missing the top 5 just goes to show how few diehard fans they have. It's a sad day when the commercial fortunes of British metal rest on Bring Me The Horizon. *cough* Iron Maiden *cough*
February 15, 201313 yr I too thought bullet for my valentine would easily go top 5, i expected an easy top 5 followed by a big drop next week, they will probably end up number 8 or 9 on Sunday now.
February 15, 201313 yr Author Midweek Charts update: Positiva heading for first Universal chart-topper Source: MW by Paul Willams Dance label Positiva is set for its first UK No 1 single under Universal ownership this Sunday with Avicii versus Nicky Romero's I Could Be The One. The single has opened up a 26% sales lead at the top of the midweeks, according to the Official Charts Company, with its first-week sales having fallen just short of 70,000 downloads up to the end of business on Thursday. Positiva scored a string of No 1 singles prior to Universal's $1.9bn (£1.2bn) buyout of EMI, but this will be the first since the deal went through. The label, whose last UK chart-topper was a year ago with David Guetta featuring Sia's Titanium, was not one of the assets that needed to be sold by Universal as part of Parlophone Label Group (PLG) to meet EC demands as it is affiliated to Virgin Records. However, the individual artist contract for Guetta had to be and was part of the £487m deal with Warner last week to buy PLG. I Could Be The One's success will likely mean Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz and released on the Macklemore label will have to vacate the top after just a week. It is currently 2 in the midweeks, with Def Jam/Mercury act Rihanna's long-running Stay with Mikky Ekko looking like hitting a new chart peak as it climbs 8-3 in the week to date. Parlophone signing Gabrielle Aplin's Please Don't Say You Love Me is new at 4 as the Island-issued White Noise by Discloure featuring AlunaGeorge drops to 5 having debuted at 2 last Sunday. New York's Baauer will score a first UK hit this weekend with Harlem Shake on the indie Mad Decent label new at 6 in the midweeks, while Bruno Mars looks set to fly back into the Top 10 with sales of his Atlantic single When I was Your Man up 470% on the week to leap 46-9. Mumford & Sons' Grammy Album of the Year win with Babel has helped to lift UK sales of the Gentlemen Of The Road/Island release by 173% to move it 17-5 on the midweeks. Warner Bros act Foals are hanging on to the No 1 spot by fewer than 1,000 sales at present with the newly-issued Holy Fire as Polydor's Les Miserables soundtrack at 2 looks set to catch them. Foals also face competition from Emeli Sande whose Virgin debut Our Version Of Events has increased its sales by 48% in the week to rise 4-3, while Jake Bugg's eponymous Mercury album drops 2-4. Temper Temper, the new album frm RCA's Bullet For My Valentine, presently registers as a new entry at 10. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friday Update Top 40 Only Singles 1 Avicci/Nicky Romero (70k) 2 Macklemore/Ryan Lewis/Wanz (51.8k) 3 Rihanna/Mikky Ekko 4 Gabrielle Aplin 5 Disclosure/AlunaGeorge Top 10 6 Baauer :o 9 Bruno Mars [ When I Was Your Man] Top 15 The Lumineers Top 20 Justin Timberlake [suit & Tie] Top 30 Bruno Mars [Locked Out Of Heaven] 23 Foals 24 Justin Timberlake [Mirrors] 25 Pink/Nate Ruess 26 Drake Labrinth/Emeli Sande Top 40 39 Adele ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Foals (1k ahead) 2 Les Miserables 3 Emeli Sande 4 Jake Bugg 5 Mumford & Sons [babel] Top 10 Bruno Mars 10 Bullet For My Valentine Top 15 Richard Thompson 15 P!nk Top 20 Emelia Mitiku Paloma Faith Modestep Jools Holland Lumineers Top 30 Eva Cassidy fun.
