And can we stop with the gif posts they don't add anything value to the topic. They can be quite annoying at times. Thanks.

There has been a total of ONE gif in this topic. Clearly Mikey can't handle any gifs. :(

And they do add something of value to the topic! That was my reaction when I read vicapper's posts. :D

Dido or the Phonics should be no.1 in an IDEAL WORLD but this is the real world so it's not happening.

Bastille will walk it, basically they are current and in your face at the moment, Gooddelta summarising the point perfectly.

Agreed... the current position of the pre-orders on itunes atm

Which represents what... 25% of the albums market? Stereophonics, and especially Dido will be big physical sellers!

'The Chain' doesn't exactly sound like Fleetwood Mac either.....

I wasn't saying that it does, I was saying that the section of 'The Chain' that I mentioned, is the only part of a Fleetwood Mac song I'm familiar with!

 At the suggestion of Dido or Stereophonics beating Bastille in the albums. Stereophonics will probably do better than their last album (which was a MEGA flop) due to 'Indian Summer' being sort of successful, Dido's to me has #4 and oou of the top 75 in 4 weeks written all over it.

Bridgit Mendler really couldn't have chosen a better week to release here. Maybe the management of The Saturdays could do with taking a leaf out of their book sometime...

Fortunately for him they are based on how popular an act is at the current point in time. Bastille's album has ten times the hype and general anticipation of Dido and Stereophonics new ones. Both of these acts had their heydey a decade (or more ago) and don't shift in the same quantities now. To look at their previous albums for example, Dido's got to #2 and dived, Stereophonics' missed the top ten. Bastille are practically guaranteed the #1.

By whom? ;)

Bastille have never evan had a top 20 single (contrary to what I thought earlier). How many acts have their debut album go to #1 without a big hit single? Don't say 'Les Mis' as they are a totally different kettle of fish.

Look, this is getting ridiculous now. There is a lot of evidence that disproves your statement and you are still trying to argue against it. Maybe you should wait until Sunday to see if you're right or wrong.

And I love how you're saying this as if physical albums are still big-sellers and will completely change the success of an album.

Err, they're going to get one today?!

I already made the 'wait & see' point, but no-one seemed to notice...

Tell that to Adele... ;)

I'm still *technically* correct. :)

The entire music media? They're heading for #2 today with a single!

How much bigger do they need short of a #1? You could say the same thing about tons of acts who score their first big hit a week or two before their debut album goes to #1.

I'm still *technically* correct. :)

Not really, seeing as the hit single will happen *before* the album hits the shops, even if the day between each of these events is only one day!

I'm still *technically* correct. :)

Well, you're not, because they've already got a guaranteed Top 5 hit today at the very least?! It's like saying that you're technically correct that the X Factor winner will never have a hit for the foreseeable future because it hasn't been announced that the X Factor winner has got the #1 yet even though it's inevitable.

Actually, gooddelta has explained it a lot better than I have, so you should listen to him.

Hence the phrase 'technically' in my comment...

Well, you're still wrong, aren't you? The chart week for this week has finished, it's not like a massive celebrity death has kept Bastille out of the Top 20 at the last minute! :drama:

I suggest you look up 'technically' in a dictionary then. :)

BTW, I never thought I could stir Buzzjack up this way *without* one of my famous rap-rants...

It doesn't take a brain to realise that Bastille will have a Top 20 hit today. That's not the point, the point is that you've been proved wrong when you're making a serious point that Bastille won't have the #1 album because they've never had a Top 20 hit before the album has been released! :drama:

It's probably because your argument is incredibly weak, and is becoming to be based around Bastille not having a hit, which you & I both know, they will in about 6 hours.
