I've enjoyed this series too, but that was far and away the worst one yet. The concept was cute I suppose, but there was just nothing in terms of peril, story or depth, Clara seemed on autopilot, the kids looked uninterested for the whole thing (either of that or ridiculously annoying like that ginger girl) and the story was basically 'a forest grows for no real reason other than a girl said so and then they realise it's not so bad so nothing happens and it goes by itself', nothing changed throughout the episode at all and the characters didn't actually do anything, the forest just...came and went. The girl didn't seem to be explored very much either, the voices/lights seemed to be a bit mulled over too quickly (at least that's what it seemed anyway).

But, next weeks looks absolutely incredible so I'd prefer to just look towards that than mull over this one, evil Clara :o

You have to be an utter moron to take reviews as gospel and not endeavour to form your own opinion on something. Oh, wait.

When the show's as shit as this, watching it would turn me INTO a moron. A bit like ... oh wait!

You're already the biggest moron on the site. Please stop derailing threads and commenting on shows you don't actually watch.

One of the weakest episodes of the series for me, I found it such a borefest, some of those child actors can't even act. I just wish the setting was a bit different on earth as it seems to be featuring the school for most of the series.

Looking forward to the last 2 episodes.

And why don't you just f*** off from this thread topic.

It was like a poor episode of the Sarah Jane Adventures. Just awful. Easily the worst episode of the series, and probably even worse than The Rings of Akaten and Fear Her!

On a side note, yay for the first two part story next week and the week after in AGES!

I've not seen the episode yet but judging by the reviews so far its not making me want to watch it  tempted to just skip it and watch the finale episodes (only joking!)

I must say, I am feeling a bit disappointed after that episode. It looked like it was going to be a good episode from the little that we saw in the next time trailer, but it all kind of fell to pieces? There was no plot really apart from the fact that trees had grown all around the world and nobody knew how or why. It was scattered with some good bits (namely all of the emotional, dramatic parts with the Doctor, Clara and Danny and the friction, etc.) but the rest was all just a bit too magical and fairytale. Visually, all of it was stunning. and YES at Ceri from Wolfblood getting that relevance *.*

I AM FUCKING READY FOR NEXT WEEK THOUGH. Starting to think Clara really doesn't exist though, particularly going by Missy's "My Clara" line.

I enjoyed it, though having a lot of child actors can detract a bit as they haven't the breadth of experience of the grown-ups. I really like Mr Pink, who wouldn't, and yes I worry about the plan for Clara a bit now. The plot? well-meaning, a tad preachy, but it's a message I agree with.
There's all sorts of theories flying around on fan websites such as Missy is a rogue Time Lord and Clara is/was her assistant and has been gaining knowledge on the Doctor and how he works the whole time she's been with him, which is why she was so desperate to a) save him, b) give him the right TARDIS, c) be there to help him save Gallifrey, etc. I think it's plausible, and if it's true I'd have to take my invisible hat off to Moffat *.*

The wonderful setting aside, I thought this was the worst episode of the series by some margin. Absolutely no drama or tension to it as it contained a cast of the 3 main characters and a load of children who were clearly never going to come to any harm. The ending was even more horrendous, I very nearly threw up.

Let's just pretend this one didn't happen eh and move swiftly on.

That would be a great twist. Kind of hope not as I think Clara is great as she is and has worked far better with Capaldi than she did with Matt Smith.

It also ties in quite nicely with the story of the TARDIS not liking Clara - which has yet to be resolved. And then of course there's been a couple of instances (albeit vague) where it's shown a dislike for her this series - namely as the cloister bell rung when she was inside the TARDIS in 'Listen'.

I wouldn't want Clara to be anyone other than who she is at the moment. If you'd suggested that theory to me before this series, I'd have happily gone along with it but now, after she's been fleshed out, it'd be a complete disappointment. The main reasoning behind this, is that we've seen a lot of Clara when she's not with the Doctor. It's clear to see there's no hidden intentions behind her or why would she not be travelling with the Doctor all the time and why has she spent so much time establishing a life for herself with a job and relationship.

Although, having typed all of that, I have just thought that she might be a Time Lord who has been turned human ie Human Nature/The Family of Blood. Something along those lines (ie having her mind wiped) is the only real thing I'll except if she's not Clara Oswald like she says in the trailer. Still, I'd rather that not be the case.

Anyway, the worst episode of the series as has been said. Nothing really happened and there wasn't any real threat or development with the characters. The Doctor didn't really need to be there either. The great production values made up for it though.

01. Kill the Moon

02. Deep Breath

03. Flatline

04. Robots of Sherwood

05. Listen

06. Mummy on the Orient Express

07. Time Heist

08. Into the Dalek

09. The Caretaker

10. Into the Forest of the Night

Even if none of the suggested theories end up being the case, I still feel that something massive needs to happen with her - something game changing. Jenna herself has already said there's a massive twist coming up and she doesn't want anybody to know about it, nobody at all seems to be confirming whether she's leaving or not, so it'd appear *something* is going to happen. And I believe even after we found out that Clara stepped into the Doctor's timeline and was splintered across time, Brian Minchin said Moffat was leading us all up the garden path with Clara. After all, even though the great focus on her as a character has been essential for her this series so we can get behind her more, understand her motives more and see more of her life, there has to be a reason why she's, at points, been overshadowing Capaldi so much in his first series. Not that it's a bad thing at all, but it needs to go down one route and end up somewhere.

They should have just called the episode "Songs of Innocence".

So mankind wakes up one morning to find a something really annoying has been forced on them overnight - one that resists their every effort to remove it. Yet within 24 hours it has vanished and humanity will soon forget it ever existed.

Such an odd episode. It was pretty much a rehash of The Power of Three but with absolutely no plot development and no guest stars to pick it up (including my good friend Jemma Redgrave, who thank god is back next week!). Like most, I'm excited for the finale but that was no way to lead into it.

this series has been generally great! looking forward to the final now.

the forest one was a bit disappointing especially coming after Mummy on the Orient Express/Flatline which I notice were both written by Jamie Mathieson, I hope he writes more for the show because those episodes are brilliant.

Those two, Time Heist, and Deep Breath make up my faves so far.

I really hope this finale delivers. I'm really hoping Moffatt pulls something special out of the bag and not some overly complicated dud.

The intrigue of Missy has had me hooked but if we find our she's Clara's daughter or anything absurd like that it would be such a let down to what has been a consistent series.

The teaser photos make this look exciting I just hope it's as epic as I think it could be...
