Is it too much to ask for The Wanted to "do a Union J"? It is, isn't it? :(

I get a good feeling about Jason Derulo's song too. I'm thinking it could debut at around 4 or 5 officially, but hang around for a little while!

Unfortunately 'Walks Like Rihanna' is a certain number one, it's been raped quite heavily by Capital, so I'm delighted that Radio1 snubbed The Wanted.

Same goes for Leah Mcfall please & please let there be no more cover tracks from The Voice please!

Gutted Paramore is increased back to 99p, although it was going to happen. I hope it doesn't have a steep fall down the chart as a result. They should hurry up & announce the third single from the album now to keep the album selling!

Leah's cover deserves to be where it is. Mike's on the other hand is probably only as high as it is because it's a recent (yet very shit and overrated) song.

Hopefully if people realise this and then they can stop themselves from buying it and just listen to Capital, where they'll play it for free. :magic:

I don't think the last part of your post is correct, personally. I think the UK are due for someone to actually do something with country music. I think with the success of Taylor, Lady Antebellum etc.. it was only a matter of time, before one of these reality shows were pushing for a country star. (It also helps that Mike doesn't actually look like your typical country music fan, either).

The UK does need a country star, yes, but not Mike Ward. Someone like Carolynne Poole, maybe...

Walks Like Rihanna won't go to #1 at all? And it has almost less of a chance of selling 130,000 copies...

The third single is 'Ain't It Fun'. The video was filmed on 6th June and is premiering on 25th June. :)

That's perfect timing! I hope "Ain't It Fun" does really well. It was one of the more popular album tracks and is so catchy

I don't think The Wanted will get to #1. What's their highest sales week? Because I think they will need to sell at least 120k to have a chance.

Their radio airplay has been massive. They've been top 200 on pre-orders within the single charts since it's been available to pre-order, it should easily pass 110,000. There's no way that 'Walks Like Rihanna' wont go to number one, unless Blurred Lines is still selling incredibly well.

They still won't go to #1. Blurred Lines is too big to stop Walks Like Rihanna from going to #1.

And the other issue is that it has no redeeming features and The Wanted are generally really vile.

That never stopped Dappy, Chris Brown and Gary Glitter going to #1 :P

I don't think them being "generally really vile" is a good enough reason to stop them going to #1...

I still can't see 'Walks Like Rihanna' selling any more than 90,000 and definitely no more than 100,000. It is doing very well on pre-orders, but good pre-orders don't automatically equal massive sales. It will definitely go top 2 though, it depends if 'Blurred Lines' is still selling over 100,000 and I think it will be doing!

If only it was! :( (Poor Nathan - he's the only likeable member of that band)

Very true. Nathan seems the only sensible one, despite being the youngest. Tom's very nice looking (:kink:), but such a prick. But I really like Walks Like Rihanna, so I won't complain if it gets to #1.

I think The Wanted will possibly end up #2 behind Robin Thicke now, but they're going to have very good sales judging by their pre-orders and airplay. Jason and Dizzee should as well (whoever is #3 of those - pretty certain it'll be a top 3 of them and Robin - could POSSIBLY do 100k).

Re: the country thing I would be very surprised if any attempt to make a UK country star worked. Mike is not really even country, he just sings ballads with a vaguely Southern US accent. Unless that's all you need to be 'country' :P

Leah McFall down to #8 now and should fall behind Wiley pretty soon. The drop to #10/11 is bigger though so she could remain top 10 for a few more days :(

Enter Shikari  to #29. Hope this can go top 100 officially for them, it seems to be doing better than their last few singles!

(On an only tangentially related matter I have decided to remove Jason Derulo's umlaut from my spreadsheets (apart from the title of his first album) as he doesn't seem to be using it any more. R.I.P.)
