It's still annoying me that 'Crazy Kids' has somehow managed to be a hit for her, when 'C'mon' failed to do so! :( I do hope people get interest in 'Warrior' though. A very strong album.

A few weeks back, I was expecting Dizzee/Robbie to be #2 but I guess its sales could still be 70k-80k which was what I predicted. Can’t believe Jason Derülo has done so well with a song that has a genre which is no longer “the thing” anymore. I guess it could be front-loaded though.

I hope Tom Odell can make the Top 10 on Sunday, it does seem possible although even if just misses out it is a massive improvement from his previous two singles. Really happy that London Grammar is Top 20 – will probably drop throughout the week but will be much better than my prediction of very low Top 40.

Not particularly thrilled that Kanye West is looking to go number one, especially if physicals are apparently out today. Kodaline could end up at #3 if there is only a <2k gap separating the Top 3.

Anyways, figured Tom Odell would be #11 in the mids, now to hope for a climb come Sunday! (the EP is back up to #6 on the album chart, so that might help too)

London Grammar at #19 :cheer: It'll obviously slip to #25-30 eventually, but still a fab result for them!

And then we see Jason Derulo's latest awful/autotuned blandfest predictably sailing to #2, in order to remind us that there is no justice in the world of chart music :/

Brilliant for Kanye. Physicals are out in some places (like HMV) but i'm not sure all retailers will have copies just yet. Should still be enough to secure the #1 though especially as he's got to #3 with a day less of sales on downloads alone.

Great to see Ke$ha back in the top 40 too.

Happy Haus.

Robin Thicke (finally) slowing down then, although he should still reach about 130k which is still a stellar sale for his 4th week.

If Black Sabbath are less than 2000 copies behind Kodaline, then they should have a good chance of overtaking by the end of the week.... that would be the first albums chart prediction I've got right in ages :kink: Although it looks like Kanye should take #1 comfortably if he doesn't slow down.

I thought Dizzee/Robbie would be a surefire no.1 or 2 at least.

Wasn't expecting him to be top 2 but I did think he had #3 in the bag - what's happened? :( Hope he can at least cling onto the top 5 now with decent sales.

I'm surprised at the extent to which Black Sabbath's post-#1 hype has kept them afloat! Although IIRC you did liken it to Rod Stewart and he only went down 5k in his second week so maybe I should have seen this coming.

-x-

I didn't love 'The Other Side' to begin with but it's getting worse for me with every listen, I'll probably be actively hating it by next week. At least he won't be getting #1 but its success is still highly disproportionate, looking certain to go over 100k.

Tom Odell should kick Leah out of the top 10 by Friday, Arctic Monkeys probably won't be a threat for top 10 considering they've released midweek but could see them making the top 15 as they did with 'Crying Lightning' and also similarly to Muse's 'Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)' and Coldplay's 'Christmas Lights'.

Great to see London Grammar in the top 20, they should hold onto top 30 all week! Remix Junkies perhaps not  It'd be something if they stayed top 40 despite being deleted early in the week but I doubt #20 is a high enough midweek position for that to happen. Hopefully 'Killing Me Softly' will drop out by the end of the week but it'll probably get a last minute boost that keeps it comfortably in like 'I Will Survive' did last week. Thank God there's no sign of Mike Ward in the top 40. And yay for random Rudimental re-entry!

Much more interested in the albums than the singles this week though - 'Yeezus' SLAYING and looking set for #1 and Sigur Rós doing far better than I was expecting from their iTunes progress  'Kveikur' could still drop out of the top 10 over the week but could just as easily still outpeak 'Valtari' (i.e. get top 7). Great to see J. Cole in the top 10 as well. Was thinking The View were flopping a bit after their last album actually did better than the previous one and went top 10 but I see it's a greatest hits, no surprise there's little interest in it

Just realised the MW report for the albums has omitted Kanye West. It has #3 Rod Stewart, #4 Sigur Ros, #5 J. Cole

Maybe the OCC originally left the album out of the update and realised their error some time between sending the charts to Music Week and posting the mids themselves?

I agree, I also think it's a very strong album. If anything I thought 'Crazy Kids' was one of the weaker tracks on the album and 'C'mon' was one of the strongest

Any idea why the sudden upsurge for CC? Did she perform on something?

I've seen it quite frequently on TV - not sure if that was the same for 'C'Mon' or not, but I can't actually remember at all what it looked like. I find it strange how even with a Jonathan Ross performance, it still only just scraped the Top 75 when, like you say, 'C'Mon' is much better than 'Crazy Kids'.

So, Kodaline are probably going to end up at number 3 then...

*Buys 50000 copies of album*

On a more serious note, well, you can't win them all. I'd just hoped that for once the general public would buy what I wanted them to, but that never happens! :P

Just got round to listening to the Kodaline album today, and I have to say I was very impressed with it on the first listen :cheer:

Remix Junkies! What a smash... Shame it won't be as big as 'Payphone' by Precision Tunes though.

In all seriousness, I'm glad Ke$ha will hopefully have another top 40 hit to her name. Crazy Kids is too good to miss out like poor C'mon. Hopefully it can keep climbing!

'Crazy Kids' is doing better coz it's a better song quite simply. C'Mon is EASILY the worst single she's released, in fact it's the only one of her's I've not liked.

Worse than the awful 'Blah Blah Blah'?
