If Icona Pop dosen't get to #1, I would prefer Robin Thicke for a 5th week, getting 5 consecutives weeks run at #1 are pretty rare these days.

Who was the last to achieve this

Top 10 Popularity Update (not combining multiple versions)

The number in brackets shows popularity change since the last update. I know the percentages are "real" etc. (we had this conversation when I did this many months ago), it just shows a difference without having to do complicated calculations to work out "real" percentage increases.

:left: 01. 100% (0.0%) Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines (feat. T.I. & Pharrell)

:left: 02. 84.3% (+1.3%) The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna

I think Icona Pop will move up to #3 by the end of the night and if they do manage to overtake The Wanted, then I think that'll happen midday tomorrow.

 The Teletubbies?!

Yes, they were very popular then, not only with parents and kids, but with students (see the success of Barbie Girl). Say Eh-oh was a million seller.

Yeah, that sounds about right I think! :D

Anyone want to join me for the Diana excitement in a few weeks? :kink: If you think I've been bad today, wait until July 21st!

That's quite amazing!

Same. Although I wish there was a version that excluded the orgasm noises because they prevent me from listening to the song out loud.

I was listening to a R1 chart show from '89 the other day and I can't believe they actually played the record in full!

Edit; Oh, I see what you mean now. :drama:

1 NEW 243,000 IT'S LIKE THAT RUN-DMC VS JASON NEVINS

2 NEW 115,000 STOP SPICE GIRLS

3 1 102,000 MY HEART WILL GO ON CÉLINE DION

I was talking complete horse-shit. Nothing new there.

There must have some #2s over 100k as well in some of those weeks

I'll Be Missing You certainly did when it was number 2 behind Oasis.

:cheer: Keep going!

You've got to consider that at the current rates of increase, in 3 updates time Icona Pop will be on 90% and The Wanted will be also be around 90%. Obviously, they will both slow down slightly - but you can't ignore the facts! :kink: They will both be pushing for the #1 by the end of tomorrow.

Carly!

I second this emotion!

This too!

It could easily be very successful yet. I remember when 'Call Me Maybe' was released, people we saying it's climbing slowly compared to what they expected and wasn't going to #1 - but then it did! So we shouldn't write it off until the end of tomorrow and see what the situation is then. :D

Wasnt CMM a surprise no.1 though ad not expected at all? Hipster moment: I loved this song ages before it reached radio here :P (Same with Lana del Rey, the two break-out artists of 2012).

One whole hour and no confirmation that Icona Pop are still the biggest gainers out of the whole top 10. I'M DYING :(

Call Me Maybe wasn't a surprise #1 at all, it was pretty much guaranteed, it's just that people were shocked at how slow it climbed to #1 IIRC. Ended up with 100k+ sales though. Slow and steady wins the race!

Icona Pop at #3...

Indeed! And then its sales increased for the next 2 weeks as well I think! :D
