June 28, 201313 yr Author Icona Pop's total sales are probably looking at 115k - 120k for the week. Robin Thicke of selling over 100k is over I reckon, anyhow we have lost one of Leah's tracks [KMS] from the 40 and we say goodbye to Union J, London Grammar, Kodaline, Macklemore [Thrift Shop], Pras, Rudimental, Bruno Mars [WIWYM] and Disclosure/Eliza. Disclosure could make up the 40, if the Script falls out. Big album fallers from J. Cole down to #29 and Sigur Ros down to #35. Glastonbury weekend expect the album chart to change a bit dramatically.
June 28, 201313 yr I am slightly in awe of how well Rod Stewart is doing in the album chart. I never expected it would stay in the Top 5 for so long and it looks like he will have no problem at all adding yet another platinum selling album to his credentials. Great to see an original album by him do so well.
June 28, 201313 yr Oh yay at Chase & Status being top 20 already! Hopefully a strong top 15 debut and a climb into the top 10 next week then. Must be a contender for most cocked up release ever. Woo at 'The 20/20 Experience' and 'Sigh No More' re-entering the albums top 40 :P
June 28, 201313 yr Album sales will be disastrous this week :Tom Odell will sell 17-18 k tops, while Rod Steward would do 14 k... After a few healthy months of number 1 sales, we are back at 2012 numbers... Do you only emerge at the faintest suggestion of low sales?
June 28, 201313 yr Tom Odell will sell at least 40,000 and the number 2 album will sell around 15,000 which will most likely remain Rod Stewart.
June 28, 201313 yr Author Is Black Skinhead in the top 40 today? No, it would have been listed among the rest. :P
June 28, 201313 yr Do you only emerge at the faintest suggestion of low sales? Also I love Tom Odell. My mam asked me if he's 'the male Adele' :P . Icona Pop on sales of 90k, and Chase & Status make splash inside the top 20. :D Didn't reckon they'd break the 100k barrier, put them just under it. The Wanted will end at 5 on sunday I think. Should expect them to drop another place on itunes later today. People were laughing at me last week for saying Wanted wouldn't be to 4 :P I predicted #6. Edited June 28, 201313 yr by Michael.
June 28, 201313 yr Interesting that Icona Pop have only sold 4k more than Robin Thicke since the last update. I guess it reflects the closeness of the iTunes pop bars, but I thought the EP would push it out further.
June 28, 201313 yr People were laughing at me last week for saying Wanted wouldn't be to 4 :P I predicted #6. You were claiming that The Wanted would be out of the iTunes top 10 by Wednesday - it's Friday and they're at #6...
June 28, 201313 yr I still think the Wanted are pretty sure to be number 4 ahead of Naughty Boy. They may have dropped fast (as predicted) but let's not forget the pre-order sales and so on. At the beginning of the week they had a pretty big lead over Naughty Boy and even now they're only on 44% of Icona Pop compared to 50% for La La La. It seems unlikely to me that they'll drop, but I could be wrong. (I'm not a fan of the Wanted but I feel that if somebody makes a prediction that's not entirely likely and bases it on the fact that they like/dislike the song, I should say something  )
June 28, 201313 yr Icona Pop going strong still! I think Robin will pass 100k again this week, but just barely.
June 28, 201313 yr wow poor Mimi cant seem to budge past the the lower 20s lol even with it being in the iTunes Top 20 most of the week. Song is staying flat oddly in that rare same chart zone. Weird
June 28, 201313 yr You were claiming that The Wanted would be out of the iTunes top 10 by Wednesday - it's Friday and they're at #6... Yup, it's holding up surprisingly well. If we assume the North East Live effect buoyed them up for the first dew days however, now it's probably fan base buys keeping them there.
June 28, 201313 yr Yup, it's holding up surprisingly well. If we assume the North East Live effect buoyed them up for the first dew days however, now it's probably fan base buys keeping them there. No it's not surprising because iTunes is a rolling chart, so it's very rare for a song to just plummet out of the top 10 after a matter of days when it has been as high as #2. I'm sure their fanbase bought the song on the day of its release - if not preordering - so it is just down to the song still selling well because of continued radio/video airplay, nothing else.
