'La La La' is a far, far better video than 'Bad Romance'. While Gaga has several good videos, 'Bad Romance' is definitely not one of them.

I have never even slightly got the love for the 'Single Ladies' video. It's pretty much the definition of a generic video.

I'd say her best video is a toss-up between 'Telephone' and 'Paparazzi'. Not because of the length but because of the storylines. I agree about LLL >>> BR. The concept is brilliant (I thought it was solely based on The Wizard Of Oz before I read Wiki).

Even though 'Single Ladies' isn't completely original, I can see the obsession and love for it. I definitely wouldn't call it generic. Generic would be videos like 'What Makes You Beautiful'/'Collide'/'You Bring Me Joy' or 'Tik Tok'/'Just Dance'/'All Night Long'.

I don't get how Single Ladies is any less generic than songs like WMYB or the like really, it's nothing at all exciting.

You're talking about the song right? I meant the video. The song is nothing exciting - probably her worst IASF single tbh.

Not for me. Diva or videophone are her worst.

No, I meant the video. I fail to see how it's in any way iconic from what I remember of it.

Name a video like it.

I'd disagree personally. I think most people would, after all the Grammy was awarded to Francis Lawrence for that video and "La La La" is really quite DULL in comparison - but this is just opinion so we'll have to agree to disagree.

Even if you're not a fan of the Bad Romance video or rate ot highly I find it impossible to not see how it is iconic. It cemented the whole image (icon) of the "monster" which is now synonymous with Gaga, her image, her music at the time and her legions of fans.

Iconic doesn't have to mean incredible/life-changing/interesting it simply means iconic. Which is what that video was for the biggest pop star around at that time and which is why it was, and still is, so well received today. It's far from my favourite from her but it's certainly her most iconic video to date for sure.

Just jumping in before it passes...

GaGa's best song for me is 'Paparazzi', easily. Then it is followed by 'The Edge of Glory' which is VERY closely followed by 'Dance In the Dark' (the missed opportunity from the TFM era, imo. 'Alejandro' was (and still is) shit and overrated). I'd also say the 'Bad Romance' video is definitely iconic! She set boundaries for music videos with that release (she actually did it with the 'Paparazzi' video, but people couldn't quite believe she'd be able to even come close to that and she did with BR & 'Telephone'.) and Haus is spot on with what he is saying. BTW era was dreadful for her videos. 'Born This Way' being the worst video and 'The Edge of Glory' being the second worst - the former was just one big, steaming pile of mess - which suited the song really.

I'm really excited for her comeback and I wasn't that big on the BTW era as a whole.

On topic of iTunes now: G'won Justin! Not heard the song yet, but I'm obviously very excited to hear it (just downloading!).

 73. Take Back the Night - Justin Timberlake

Need to listen to this. Need to listen to the whole of 'The 20/20 Experience' still oops. I think I'll actually wait until part 2 comes out and listen to both for the first time consecutively. Which will probably be like 5 hours of music knowing Justin

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet:

Oh 'Take Back the Night' most certainly didn't disappoint, for me. It's very early MJ though!

EDIT: Up to number 66 (3.55am).

Also, they need to make 'Tunnel Vision' 59p asap. It's currently at number 50 though. (Still not sure on what the music channels will be showing as the video hasn't been given a non-explicit version yet, has it?)

I loved Beyonce's IASF album. So many great songs. I love Single Ladies, one of the most fascinating instrumentals of a hit from that time period imo (along with Boom Boom Pow of course). It sounds like such a mess, but at the same time it just WORKS. I remember when I first heard Single Ladies my brain was trying to comprehend the sounds which were popping out all over the place, took me a while to get the rhythm of it properly. They must've been so surprised that the song took off in the way it did.

And hooray for Justin!! :cheer:

Where is JT new single? you can now PO the album and get the single!

*Another* new album? FFS, he only just released one 3 months ago!

Why do so many people spell 'Poker Face' as one word? [/minorgripe]

The OCC spells it as two words, so that's good enough for me.

As for Bad Romance, based on its average iTunes position (around #1200 or so), I estimate it must be selling 400/wk +/- 50.

It must be extremely close to 1m by now!

How much would you estimate that Single Ladies sells per week?
