Encouraging to see Miley has gone dark red on kworb.

They got rid of that rule at the start of this year, initially to allow David Bowie to chart but it's remained gone since and plenty of album pre-order tracks have charted, including 'Mirrors' which would have been excluded from the chart while it was #1 if the rule hadn't gone :P 'Take Back The Night' has a peak of #45 so far and has been top 100 for 3 weeks.

Actually the rule was changed after Bowie (but possibly because of him) - his instant grat sales weren't counted but for the first time the other sales of that track were. 'Mirrors' was the first beneficiary of the rule change.

Good!! Let's hope so.

Spot the Jessie J fan!!

As much as I agree I think this will probably do well given the pre orders so far I wouldn't be shocked if they bring the release date forwards!

Kworb update:

1. Miley Cyrus 1.0000

2. Avicii 0.6599

3. Tinie Tempah 0.4667

4. Lana Del Ray 0.3164

5. Robin Thicke 0.2151

Avicii is in red, Miley in white but she's been red most of the day I just hope her sales are front loaded and she could fall, Avicii is not far behind

The #1 is always in white on these fake updates, don't trust the colours on the most recent update unless some of the songs are dark green/red and 76-100 are all white.

"Fake" or inaccurate? And what causes the "fake" updates?

(I feel as if this is one iTunes phenomenon that passed me by)

I don't actually have anything against Ms J, I've even liked a few of her past songs. This however is possibly the worst song I've heard all year.

they just need to release Oblivion in November and it will smash

Well TBF, people said the same thing about Things We Lost In The Fire back when Laura Palmer was flopping...

Surely Miley is definitely gonna get #1 this week? She deserves if anyway, I LOVE the song and have been obsessed for weeks. I cannot stand 'Wake Me Up' as well.

However, I think it's fairly clear that Wake Me Up will climb back up to #1 next week. I highly doubt Ellie will get to #1, the song just isn't strong enough.

Precisely

The album has barely any "hits" on it as it is away from Bastille, and yet they still manage to release two of the more forgettable songs from it. I never did understand the love for either of the two most recent singles or why they were hailed as the album highlights / clever single choices.

Are OneRepublic 59p?!

Ye. I hope they keep climbing and radio will take note and pick it up! Really like "Counting Stars".

'Counting Stars' would be a LOVELY addition to the Radio 1 playlist on Wednesday

Oh I don't know why I call them 'fake' updates, just a habit I got into somehow I guess :P But yeah the new updates aren't accurate unless there are dark green / dark red songs and 76-100 are white. (Although the current update is an accurate one and 76 is green, so maybe it's 77-100 actually).

Great to see C O O L doing reasonably well. Always good to see "Me & U" doing well

Oh OK, good to know!

I've noticed Ke$ha has a really odd pattern of movement. She does really well on Monday and Tuesday (up to #33, after going as low as #45) and then gradually falls back for the rest of the week (incl. the weekend), before recovering the following Monday. It's really odd, perhaps this is the dawn of a "week beginning effect"

There's no way Miley wont be number one on Sunday, she should still be number one on iTunes come Saturday/Sunday and I expect Ellie to knock her off!
