Pre-order update and my predictions for where each song will enter iTunes tonight!

40. Katy Perry - Roar

If this is released tonight which seems to be a high possibility following the release in Ireland, I think it will enter straight at #4. It could be as high as #2, but it has only had around a week of pre-orders so won't be as high as other songs that have reached or nearly reached the top 40 on pre-orders after several weeks of pre-orders. I think 'The Other Side' nearly reached the top 40 and entered at #2 or #3?

48. Klangkarussell ft. Will Heard - Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)

I predict this will enter iTunes tonight at . It seems to have gained popularity only recently in a similar way to Breach's 'Jack', but has had a much higher peak on iTunes. Breach entered just inside the top 20 I think but due to this getting a higher peak, I predict this will enter iTunes at around #8.

98. Matt Cardle ft. Melanie C - Loving You

This has been top 500 on pre-orders nearly all the time since it was first made available. It has been available to pre-order for quite a while and I think this will be a similar situation to Avril's 'Here's To Never Growing Up'. While Avril had consistently decent pre-orders for a longer time than Matt & Melanie, 'Loving You' has peaked higher after the Daybreak performance compared to Avril after her The Voice performance. Therefore I think this will enter iTunes at around the same point as Avril at around #11.

200. Naughty Boy ft. Emeli Sande – Lifted

This was only around the bottom end of the top 1000 for quite a while and has only very recently started climbing. It could enter at a similar position to Lucy Spraggan's 'Lighthouse' which both had a peak position just inside the top 200 while spending the majoirty of the time towards the bottom of the top 1500. I would predict an entry of around #30.

214. Sean Paul - Other Side Of Love

I'm not quite sure how long this has been available to pre-order, but it seems to have done similarly to 'Lifted' so this could enter iTunes tonight just below that song at around #32.

736. Florida Georgia Line ft. Nelly - Cruise

I think this will be the only song along with maybe 'Other Side Of Love' that will climb after the first 2 days of release. This has only appeared recently I think and has not been quite as high as Amelia Lily's 'Shut Up' managed if I remember correctly. Therefore I think this will enter around #80 as it has done better than Amelia's 'Party Over'.

1103. Tich – Obsession

This has done very similarly to Diana Vickers' 'Cinderella' however it was consistently in the top 1500 on the pop chart whereas 'Cinderella' wasn't in the pop chart for quite a while. Therefore as 'Cinderella' entered at around #55, this will be slightly higher at around #40 in my opinion but not as high as 'Dumb' managed.

I've just realised how much I've wrote for each one, I only planned on doing a quick prediction! Anyway, there we go! :kink:

Florida Georgia Line - Cruise (feat. Nelly) #719 (pre-order)

Just realised this is being released tomorrow I believe. Looks like it might scrape the top 40. I've grown to really love this tbh. I couldn't get it out of my head yesterday

Leona Lewis "Run" to #184. 99p now I believe. It was nice while it lasted. :( Although it should stick around for the rest of the year, especially with X-factor starting at the end of this month.

Paramore "Ain't It Fun"#105. Sticking around well considering the weekend effect! Really hoping the video will be released soon. I want this to be another top 20 hit for them.

Miguel "Adorn" #72 & #609. BBC Radio 1 B-list will start on Monday and hopefully it will be A-listed for the week of release. I can see it possibly going top 20 once the Jessie Ware version is released. And I really hope so too

Rihanna could release a song of farts and it would still go to #1.

Ridiculous thing to say. Her last single peaked at what #95 in the UK and RR was basically a flop in the US and only got to #2 here on the back of an X factor performance. Even for someone as big as Rihanna the quality (when I say this I mean quality as in pleasing to enough ears to buy it and make it number 1) is waaaaaaaaaay above anything Gaga has released since her first album.

I don't even think that 'Applause' is any worse than the songs from GaGa's debut era. They all sound very similar (who produced 'Applause'?) and imo it could've easily slotted into The Fame / Monster. The singles from the first album just did far better because GaGa was a fresh exciting new artist back then to most people. It's not like she's taken a huge nose-dive with 'Applause' in terms of quality.
I'm surprised people on here still declare OA/OS releases flops after only a few days. The whole point is that they are meant to stick around for longer as people start hearing them. No wonder the UK rarely releases OA/OS when people who actually follow charts and should know how it works declare the releases flops so quickly

Applause may turn out to be a flop but my point is it is far too early to tell.

EXACTLY.

And the thing is was with 'Born This Way' it came off the back of the huge Fame era. 'Applause' has not (mentioning this for the MILLIONTH time seeing nodody seems to take this into mind), she's basically building up her fanbase again (ala 'Bad Romance' and its chart run) after an era which received a divided reception. The sales its had at the moment have been almost PURE fanbase alone, which has decreased after the BTW era, it being OA/OS will give it chance to regain lost fans and with more radioplay and tv play and promo it will appeal to the general public as well in turn resulting in a better chart run and peak hopefully!

Except just about every single from The fame/monster had melodies and you could sing along to them. 3 or 4 listens of Applause and I still have no idea what she says after 'I live for the applause'.

I haven't heard 'Cruise' but I already just know it's the worst song ever.

Probably not far off. Its truly hideous.

I didn't know it was being released so soon, which means it should flop hopefully. I was terrified it would be a crossover hit when I saw a topic for it yesterday.

It's not that ridiculous; he means lead single, and is talking about now in the UK. RR's performance in the US isn't relevant.

So for 6 years Rihanna's popularity is the only reason 4 of her 5 lead singles go to #1? It is obvious it is down to 'quality' of the tracks seen as before long 3 will be million sellers and the other #1 for 10 weeks.

The is no more hype or anticipation for a Rihanna new release than there is for Gaga. Rihanna just delivers. Yes Riahnna and Gaga's lead singles are going to go top 10 on hype and fanbase alone, but getting to #1 and being as successful as Rihanna's have been are down to being great songs.

Gaga's fanbase meant Applause would do as well as it has, it is just the general public (and yes anyone between 15 and 35 who doesn't live under a rock will have heard it) just don't care for it or like it obviously.

I haven't heard 'Cruise' but I already just know it's the worst song ever.

Well, in that case you should try to avoid it the best you can. I wasn't sure at first and gave it a few listens yesterday. Then last night when I went to bed, it kept popping up in my head and literally every dream I had the song would somehow work its way into it. So be warned. :D

Applause is definitely a grower and I can see it hanging around for a while as more people hear it.

lol at Robin Thickle getting back in the top 10.

lol. I miss Matthew Firth actually, his posts would make me laugh.

I miss him too, but i miss Kobbar the most. He was the funniest poster i've seen here.

^ tis the return of 'Robin Van Persie'! *.*

We all miss him :( He actually came back a few months ago, and made up an alias (for some reason). Got found out pretty quickly though

Back on topic - fab to see Sonnentanz make the top 50 finally! I am severely doubting its chances of #1 (due to Katy Perry possibly releasing). Although it has been top 75 consistently for around a week, so it shouldn't do too badly :D

Nope it shouldnt do that badly #1 or #2 is fine for me :)....The 1 song I am worried about doing badly over the next few weeks is MKS 'Flatline'....I really want that song to do well

Radio 1 gave it a great review during their review show and MKS have been to Capital for an interview so there's a chance both stations will get on board (Radio 1 are more likely) but I can understand why you'd be worried. I think there's a stigma attached to them unfortunately as "ex-Sugababes". If they were a completely new band with none of that history, they'd definitely get support with 'Flatline'. I guess time will tell.
