Bigger than Avicii? :o

Wait, no. Avicii had to overtake John Slayman on only his second week.

But ellie selling like 60k this week... That was much easier to pass her...

SLAYTY

Really hoping for Neon Jungle to be a big hit too, despite lack of radio 1 support.

Update from KWORB:

1. Katy Perry - Roar 1.0000

2. Ellie Goulding - Burn 0.4023

DAMN at that lead Katy! You're killing it!

1. Katy Perry - Roar 100%

2. Ellie Goulding - Burn 40.23%

Edit: I knew someone would beat me to it :drama:

The lead isn't that exceptional considering Ellie probably sold about 60k to be #1 this week. I don't think it'll stretch all that much further, though it'll probably push Ellie down to 25% or so. That would probably be the single biggest iTunes lead over a #2 we've seen this year seeing as Robin and Avicii both got #1 with high-selling #2s.
Umm. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure Avicii DID

No, he took like 1 minute more I think to get there :P

A Lady Gaga fan?

It was a steep hill and took a while to climb!

Yeah that's right, John Slayman was out in his second week, hard competition for anyone.

1 Katy Perry

Roar

8 Lady Gaga

Applause

This chart battle is hotting up!!! I dunno who will get the no.1 this week, it's gonna come down to the wire! Wonder if the press will report on the gap in Katy's favour again...

Well, they can hardly twist it in Gaga's favour? I doubt there'll be comments, they're not really competition here as they've released on different weeks with different strategies.
Jesus, that was quick! The power of Perry is never to be underestimated.
Makes me wonder how much Ri-Ri would sell on a held-back release... I'm guessing less as more people would illegally download it/ get bored.

Summertime Sadness  #6

Applause  #7

Hold On We're Going Home  #8

Dunno what that third song is but yes for common sense prevailing! This might also end up Lana's biggest hit - Summertime Sadness - who'd have thought!

I know Amazon accounts for minimal download sales but Katy has not been added for download with them yet!

If you're posting in a current chart thread, I would assume you've at least got basic knowledge of a song that's been in the Top 20 for the best part of a month....

Wow Katy Perry flying... that lead is going to stretch :o Avicii did 153k for Sun to Tues and ended up with 226.524 for the week, I wonder if Katy Perry will match it or smash it.
Still waiting for 'All My Love' by Cover Drive to come along and slay! Goddam Global dropping them and preventing the song getting raped by th Capitial Radio network

Only Girl was held back and it sold 126,000 first week and 134,000 second week (after the X Factor performance).

Almost, it was 266,524 :P

I remember it like it was yesterday! Cheryl got #1 with Promise this the first week, and then swapped places with Rihanna the second week. That was a fun chart battle!
