 17. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Mary Lambert - Same Love

Being put on the C-List on R1 is definitely helping

It being C-Listed doesn't take effect until Monday :o Massive hit coming up, surely. :cheer:

What's that doing (back?) in the top 100? :o (I'm not sure if it's just had an incredible top 100 run or if it's just recently been climbing again ) Everyone else can keep their Avicii tracks this year. This is probably my favourite dance track of the year. FLAW. LESS. *.*

I saw it just inside the top 200 a couple of days ago, it seems to be from a compilation album rather than the single version. I'm still surprised it has managed to get has high as the top 100 though! :o

Has a track ever gone C-A on radio 1's playlist before? I wonder if 'Same Love' could do that? (I know it probably won't (ever) happen, but just intrigued)

Its happened on many occassions but usually only when they have put it on late and want to play it alot the following week if its the release week. think Thrift Shop may have done it earlier in the year with the rapid rise up itunes so its not beyond belief they would do it though id say a steady rise up C-B-A is more likely. Even OA/OS songs that are doing well havent went up so quickly like Applause!

I hope the new Arctic Monkeys single doesnt get lost amongst the continued popularity of DIWK, YOCMWYH is a cracking song too. Although if the first single continues to rise next week with the album release it would be unreal to see it re-peak in the top 10 which isnt beyond belief!!

'Do I Wanna Know?' is now primarily selling due to being the pre-order track on 'AM', the single version is well below 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?' Their B-Side is holding up incredibly well, is it getting support of its own somewhere?

Eek at You Me At Six dropping to #7 already, though they're now top 10 in the mids and I think they'll hold onto that. It's definitely a cert to become their new highest peaker even if it just misses out though.

London Grammar top 20 :cheer: Coming for that official top 20! (I hope/pray)

 79. Demi Lovato - Made in the USA

:cheer:

 69. Nina Nesbitt - Don't Stop Download

Now would be a great time to reduce to 59p Olly! Grab that momentum! I'm glad to see it's looking likely to go top 40 eventually! It's my favourite song of his to date.
But sales are the only *objective* way to measure success (or the lack of it) - how much those fans who bought an album actually *like* it, is purely subjective, and therefore not comparable.

Yes but a lot of people who didn't hear the albums say they're back on form purely because they're having more singles success. Anyone who equates sales with quality is a moron.

Yeah, I totally agree. Dido is a particularly good example of this!

Yes, you're right, Dido's last 2 albums were amazing despite poor sales

Why she isn't slaying everyone here is beyond me.

I remember Katy B - Katy on a Mission going C-A!

I agree with what you say to be honest. Sales are more a reflection of how much airplay a song gets and how broad its appeal is, rather than how good the song actually is imo.

Probably Buzzjack's least favourite song by a female artist.
