They're not really the type of thing I'd normally listen to but it's fantastic to see Drake & Macklemore both so high, be great to see them even higher.

Has the fox been deleted off iTunes because it was at 135 before and now I can't find it when I search it.
If only #3, #6 and #9 all had their positions divided by three.

*Gets calculator out......*

On the Album chart:

81. Selena Gomez - Slow Down - EP

Out on 20th October

Ooh, great position for Arcade Fire! Just heard it now and wasn't disappointed, they are REALLY overdue a top 40 hit after nothing from their last era came close so I really hope this can be it (despite pretty much EVERY SONG of The Suburbs deserving a top 40 place in its own right)

Coldplay are doing about as well as I expected, although I did expect it to get higher than 8th. I'd imagine this will almost completely echo Christmas Lights' performance.

Don't know where Ben Pearce came from, but that going top 40 would also be brilliant.

(excuse the long post, not been here in a while!)

Arcade Fire #21 ! SO deserved. I obviously love them but they've yet to have a song I've absolutely fallen head-over-heels with and this might finally be it?!

408. Ciara - 1, 2 Step (feat. Missy Elliott)

413. Ja Rule - Livin' It Up

415. Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers (Sunship Mix)

424. Evanescence - Bring Me to Life

432. Linkin Park - In the End

445. Shaggy - It Wasn't Me

468. Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers

477. Beyoncé - Crazy In Love (feat. Jay-Z)

491. Enrique Iglesias - Hero

492. Sean Paul - Get Busy

Nostalgia overload in the 400s.

"Rebellion (Lies)"?? - I was enraptured by that video of the band marching through a town, I was ready to join their conga line. :D

Anyway I've just bought it on Amazon so I won't contribute to its climb on iTunes sadly, but great to see them potentially getting back in the Top 40. Nothing came from the last album (although "Ready To Start" did scrape the Top 75 at #67) because they deliberately refused to release any singles - until "Sprawl II" in 2012 but by then it was already 18 months since the album..

glad to see Same Love in the top 10.... it was subjected to a huge injustice in the States by being stuck at number 11 for 5 weeks while it was selling way more than the 6-10 positions....

hope it goes top 10 in the UK and pave way for more gay themed songs....

There were 2 minor hits from 'The Suburbs' - poor forgotten 'We Used To Wait'! I'm pretty sure that was released as a proper single and charted at #75. Deserved a lot better. I'm almost certain I remember Radio 1 playlisting 'City With No Children' and maybe also 'Speaking In Tongues' which indicates they were also properly released as singles before 'Sprawl II'.

I think the reason 'Reflektor' is doing so much better is a combination of them gaining more hype from the Grammys and BRITs and whatnot following the release of 'The Suburbs' and the fact it's an OA/OS release which works a hell of a lot better than held-back releases for indie acts. 'We Used To Wait' was held back IIRC. EDIT: Just checked and 'We Used To Wait' was released the same week as the album came out which can't have helped, but it did have pre-release support from R1 so #75 is still a bit of an underperformance. 'Ready To Start' got as high as #67 because of the BRITs performance.

I love Arcade Fire but find 'Rebellion (Lies)' extremely overrated. 'Keep The Car Running' is their best single IMO, cannot believe that didn't make the top 40.

This song needs to join this list! (but obviously be much higher )

Yeah, Drake's success with that song is really surprising. However, he's got new features out this week:

91. The Weeknd - Live For (feat. Drake)

541. 2 Chainz - I Do It (feat. Drake & Lil Wayne)

893. 2 Chainz - I Do It (feat. Drake & Lil Wayne)

And as usual, they're not even going top 40. :(

 2. Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home (feat. Majid Jordan)

This begs the question why is with this song? why not songs like "Headlines", "Started From The Bottom", "I'm On One" as well?

I think a random number generator is used to determine how well his songs do in the charts.

Same Love  #7

I swear the UK chart is f***ed up most of the time. The wrong type of songs often go to #1 here, there's a lack of continuity a lot of the time as well.
