I do think of Capital and Radio 1 as counterparts, although they are extremely different to listen to. Capital Xtra and Radio 1Xtra are more similar though.

Poor Iggy :( Forever destined for Top 20 hits.

She needs to up her PROFILE and the QUALITY of her music i.e. sell out.

This model is never going to get MASS EXPOSURE because she's still too unconventional.

She needs big features (at least for US exposure) as for the rest she's fine. Iggy is a female rapper, not a popstar (even if her looks and UK marketing would make one wonder which is probably why some people expect so much from her, at least chart-wise).

I do think there needs to be some perspective. She's not the next big female popstar and is making music for a much more niche market so never will come anywhere close to being so. I'd say it's the insane expectations that she puts on herself (as admirable as it is) which leads to all this "underperforming" talk from herself and her fans. She's still not a big name to secure a top 10 hit with every release, and 3 top 20s in such a short space of time is nothing to be ashamed of.
I can't see Cher rocketing on iTunes tonight on that performance, not really a fan of the track myself.
So the XF performances - Ellie singing a track that's months old and Cher doing an album track - Missed opportunity for both!

'I Hope You Find It' is Cher's next single, isn't it?

'I Hope You Find It' will definitely sell the album more than 'Woman's World'. I thought her performance was excellent; I can see myself becoming a big fan of that song (although I do still wish there was a mash-up of a new song, 'Believe' and 'If I Could Turn Back Time'.).

Yeah I don't really see where people's high expectations for Iggy come from. I'm still surprised 'Bounce' even did as well as it did, it was a bit weird everyone thought it was a guaranteed top 10 when her previous single only got as high as #17 and 'Bounce' didn't seem to have any more hype/support than that. 'Change Your Life' is also doing better than I'd have thought although admittedly its pre-orders towards the end of last week were kinda pointing towards a top 10 (but then there's still time for her to get there anyway).

I think so, yes. In german speaking countries it actually is the first single, released as a Double-A-side with "Womans's World". She also performed it in the biggest tv show here last week and it really helped selling the album.

I didn't realise she was singing "I Hope You Find It", not sure how well "Woman's World" will do now, with her album out tomorrow as well, at a guess she probably miss top 10 altogether now.

Are the X Factor performances showing up on the iTunes chart?

Ellie Goulding - Burn  to #15

Of course, Cher has yet to release the song she performed - it's an album track I believe. So it may get heavily cherrypicked tomorrow?

15. Ellie Goulding - Burn

104. Cher - Believe

124. Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen

126. Cher - Woman's World

133. Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time

137. Ellie Goulding - Your Song

143. Cher - Strong Enough

148. Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed

159. Cher - Walking in Memphis

"I Hope You Find It" is A-Listed on Radio 2, so I'd definitely call that a promo single (like Madonna's "Masterpiece").

After X Factor performances:

15. Ellie Goulding - Burn

55. Daft Punk - Get Lucky (Radio Edit) [feat. Pharrell Williams]

80. Daft Punk - Get Lucky (feat. Pharrell Williams)

344. Faith Hill - There You'll Be

424. Deena Jones & The Dreams & Jennifer Hudson - One Night Only

1161. Beyoncé - One Night Only (Disco Version)

104. Cher - Believe

126. Cher - Woman's World

133. Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time

143. Cher - Strong Enough

159. Cher - Walking in Memphis

Brilliant, YAY for the forgotten classic Strong Enough making a return, surprised it was included in the VT!
