Looking at Kworb I think the highest UJ will go is 4 on itunes - the big three are just too far in front. However the song is doing way way better than I thought it would - I didn't think it was even going to go top 10

I have not heard this Royals business.

Will have my first listen now.

It's a very understated track isn't it. Not memorable at all and extremely simplistic in its production. How the hell is this going for #1 everywhere?

I didn't like it but I also didn't hate it. It's too uneventful to bother me either way. (She is no Tove Lo though.)

I can see the hype around this being in the same vein as Lana's for Video Games. Quirky girl does Indie / Pop crossover. I can't see the appeal past that though. :huh:

Union J #5, Showtek #7. Did 'Carry You' get top 5 on iTunes? I assume it did but can't remember.

"Carry You" got as high as #3, obviously it only went #6 officially though so I don't think "Beautiful Life" will be an official top 5 for them.

I think the one-day wonder comment was aimed at Justin and not Katy. I guess it would be much clearer if a comma was placed between 'Katy' and 'and', but let's not get into a pointless conversation about grammar :lol:

How can you say Royals is simplistic in its production when the chart has been full of David Guetta song for years? :blink:

I think the word you're looking for is "minimal". It's like Somebody That I Used to Know, that song was quiet, but there were a dozen things going on a once in that song.
