December 1, 201312 yr This isn't one of Calvin's best songs but Hurts are fabulous here. I agree - so pleased Hurts will finally get a hit (albeit as a featured artist).
December 1, 201312 yr 40 Jessie J - Thunder [D] http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/ff/Jessie_J_Thunder.jpg/220px-Jessie_J_Thunder.jpg Chart Run: 40 [1 wk] Release date: 08-12-2013 Format: digital single Label: Universal Island Records Video here: jCM-aRqvbHI Biography Combining the vocal prowess of Beyoncé, the genre-hopping sounds of Gwen Stefani, and the feisty attitude of P!nk, songwriter Jessie J eventually overcame various career setbacks and health problems to become a star in her own right. Born Jessica Cornish in Chadwell Heath, London in 1988, she started her career in showbiz at the age of 11, performing in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind. After studying musical theater at the prestigious BRITS School, she signed a deal with indie label Gut Records, which went bankrupt before releasing any of her music. Following a minor stroke at age 18, she gained a Sony publishing contract and penned hits for the likes of Chris Brown, Dutch X Factor winner Lisa Lois, and Miley Cyrus (the American number two hit "Party in the USA"). After building up an established online presence, she signed to Universal Records and began working with the likes of hitmaker Dr. Luke (Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson), Atlanta rapper B.o.B, and R&B producer Labrinth on her debut album, Who You Are. In 2010, her first single, "Do It Like a Dude," originally written for Rihanna, reached number 25 in the U.K. charts and, following in the footsteps of Adele, Florence and the Machine, and Ellie Goulding, she was announced as the winner of the Critics Choice Award at the 2011 Brits. That same year, an appearance on Saturday Night Live coincided with her album being reissued in the U.S. Following a tour that took in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Malaysia and her first show in North America, Jessie J became the first UK female solo artist to achieve six top-ten singles from a single studio album. The success of the sixth single “LaserLight”, featuring David Guetta, was aided in no small part by her appearance as judge on the UK edition of The Voice. The hit show gave the singer a chance to display her talent for musical coaching, while building a rapport with fans both old and new on primetime television. Also involved were Tom Jones and Will.I.Am, with whom Jessie J performed at Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in June 2012, before heading back to the studio to work on the follow-up to Who You Are. ~ Jon O'Brien & Daniel Clancy, Rovi / iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2010 02 Do It Like A Dude -1- 2011 01 Price Tag (Jessie J Feat. December 1, 201312 yr Calvin Harris #1 tonight please. Lol at 'Thunder' being played twice in the space of 20 minutes (I caught the end of the last show). Nice to see it charting though
December 1, 201312 yr Oh saw the music video for this earlier in the week, not really keen on Thunder at the moment. The screechiness of the way she enunciates the word Thunder is really irritating. :( Edited December 1, 201312 yr by Jade
December 1, 201312 yr 'Thunder' is actually tolerable. Not 'good' but her voice doesn't make me want to kill myself which is usually as good as Jessie gets.
December 1, 201312 yr Thunder keeps growing on me, the weakest of the three from this album so far though, I'd rather have had Sexy Lady or Excuse My Rude released.
December 1, 201312 yr Jessie only needs 'Excuse My Rude' to be a hit now to match the number of top 40 hits that the non-deluxe version of Who You Are had. Yay for her not suffering from 2nd album slump syndrome!

She was born in Saint Michael, Barbados, and her career began when she met record producer Evan Rogers through mutual friends in late 2003 and recorded demo tapes under Rogers's guidance. Her demo tape was sent to several record labels, and she subsequently signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its president, rapper Jay-Z. Rihanna's first two studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006) both peaked in the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart. The albums spawned the Billboard Hot 100 top two hit single "Pon de Replay" and her first Hot 100 number-one "SOS". Her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), and its chart-topping lead single "Umbrella" were major breakthroughs in her career that brought her to widespread prominence. The album and its Reloaded version (2008) produced the worldwide hit singles "Don't Stop the Music", "Take a Bow", and "Disturbia". The record was nominated for nine Grammy Awards, winning Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella", and is Rihanna's best-selling album in the US to date. After an altercation with then-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna released her fourth studio album, Rated R, in November 2009. It was followed by three more albums: Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011), and her first Billboard 200 number one album Unapologetic (2012). That same year she appeared in her first theatrical feature film: Battleship. These albums feature the global hit singles "Rude Boy", "What's My Name?", "S&M", "Where Have You Been" and "Stay", as well as some of the best-selling singles of all time, such as "Umbrella", "Disturbia", "Only Girl (In the World)", "We Found Love", and "Diamonds". In addition to her solo work, Rihanna has collaborated with numerous other artists, including being featured on the worldwide hits "Live Your Life" (with T.I.), "Love the Way You Lie" and "The Monster" (both with Eminem). Rihanna is known for consistently reinventing her style and image, most notably since her third album Good Girl Gone Bad. Her work has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including six Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 22 Billboard Music Awards, and two BRIT Awards. She has sold over 30 million albums and 120 million singles worldwide, which makes her one of the best-selling artists of all time. She has achieved twelve number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the youngest and fastest solo artist to achieve the feat. Billboard named her the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade and the top Hot 100 artist of the 2010s decade. In 2012, Forbes ranked her the fourth most powerful celebrity of the year, with earnings of $53 million between May 2011 and May 2012. The same year, TIME named Rihanna one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. On November 24, 2013, Rihanna was presented with the first ever American Music Award "Icon Award". - Wikipedia Chart history (Year peak title): 2005 02 Pon De Replay -1- 2005 11 If It's Lovin' That You Want -2- 2006 02 S.O.S. -1- 2006 02 Unfaithful -2- 2006 17 We Ride -3- 2007 01 Umbrella (Rihanna Feat.
