'Skip To The Good Bit' is growing on me a bit now even though I am not a fan of the Rizzles. 'Down With The Trumpets' is still the best thing they've released though IMO.

Skip to the Good Bit isn't as bad as it could have been, but still not a patch on the EMF original.

Biography

R&B vocalist Jason Derülo launched his career while still in his teens, first as a songwriter for other artists and later as a solo performer. Born to Haitian parents in Miramar, Florida, Derülo started singing at an early age. He attended performing arts schools in Florida and took some early stabs at music composition, writing his first song at the age of eight. His writing skills began attracting attention, and by his teenage years, Derülo had begun scribing tracks for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull, and Pleasure P. He also wrote "Bossy" for Birdman, a New Orleans-based rapper, and made a guest appearance on the song, which highlighted his ability as a vocalist.

 

After signing to a subsidiary of Warner Bros., Derülo began making the transition from behind-the-scenes songwriter to mainstream performer. His first hit arrived during the summer of 2009, when he wrapped a sample of Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" (a song made popular by its appearance in the second season finale of The O.C., as well as the Saturday Night Live sketch Dear Sister) around a sleek modern soul beat. Titled "Whatcha Say," the song topped the Billboard charts and cracked the Top Ten in multiple foreign countries, including Canada, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. A second single, "In My Head," peaked at number five in America, and Derülo's full-length debut album arrived in early 2010. Hilarious when a popstar releases something that isnt setting the charts on fire and all the fans start saying 'such and such is a smash waiting to happen' - in saying that Unconditional has plenty of time and should be top 10 in the new year!

Oh thought this would be out by now! It's alright, better than Trumpets anyway.

One of the most detestable artists right now for me.

 

And his worst song to date is still to come :drama:

I kinda feel like this should be long gone now. I do like this though, 2 Chainz can kindly leave but the rest of the song is pretty damn good.

Biography

Hailing from the leafy suburbs of South West London is Ram Records’ Wilkinson. His first insight into making music came at the age of 9 when his parents bought him a drum kit. Mark ‘Wilkinson’ joined a few bands and was playing at venues as far as the Birmingham NEC and as close as the local old peoples home. This swiftly ended at the age of 14 when Wilkinson discovered his passion for dance music amongst other things. In his final year at college Wilkinson tried his hand at making beats in the college studio, this lead to him buying his first bits of production gear and turning his bedroom into a studio. A few years and part time jobs later, after driving his family mad with large amounts of bass loosening the brickwork of his house, Mark secured himself a studio not far from his home.

 

After fine-tuning his production skills, Wilkinson passed a few songs on to Hospital Records via Cyantific, which led to his first release on Hospital Records’ Sick Music 2 compilation. A few months later Wilkinson sent a folder of tunes to Ram Records and within days received a phone call from Andy C inviting him for a meeting at the Ram Records HQ.

 

October 2010 saw three of Wilkinson’s songs featured on Andy C’s Nightlife 5 album and releases including ‘Moonwalker’/‘Samurai’, ‘Refuge’, ‘Get Into It’ and the mighty ‘Everytime’/‘Overdose’ doing damage across dance-floors worldwide, winning fans from Skream, Mista Jam, Chase & Status and High Contrast in the process.

Since then Mark won the ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ award at the National D&B Awards 2012 and has remixed Chase & Status, Example, Nero, Professor Green, Wiley and Jakwob to much critical acclaim. He’s also currently working on production projects for Relentless, Atlantic and Island Records.

 

2012 saw Wilkinson up the levels once more, releasing the mighty ‘Automatic’ in the summer, followed by the hit record ‘Need To Know’ feat. Iman which topped the iTunes Electronic chart, was championed by the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw, was Sara Cox’s daytime Record Of The Week and spent 4 weeks on the Radio 1 playlist.

 

Hotly tipped to do big things across drum & bass and electronica, Wilkinson released ‘Take You Higher’ to much critical acclaim, again topping all D&B charts and receiving numerous daytime Radio 1 spins.

Following on from ‘Heartbeat’ feat. P Money & Arlissa which again topped all d&b charts and was playlisted across BBC 1Xtra, Wilkinson releases ‘Afterglow’ ahead of his debut album on Ram Records titled ‘Lazers Not Included’ this Oct 2013. Lily Rose Beatrice Cooper (née Allen; born 2 May 1985), known professionally as Lily Allen, is an English recording artist and actress.
