apparently most of cd copies of the album are sold out in UK, which means that her team didn't ship enough copies.. that's why she's dropping constantly..

Plenty of copies in both major supermarkets where I work.

And a limitless amount available in iTunes...

Full to bursting with copies in my local HMV and supermarket too. This week wasn't a good week for her to release in terms of chart success, early December releases should be saved only for Xmas albums and the absolutely highest profile acts, otherwise they just get completely lost in the rush. She could have got a Femme Fatale sized low top ten in the summer.

Can't believe Kelly Clarkson is going to miss the top 40 :/

Hope Leona stays top 20 at the least, then top 10 after X Factor, Jonathan Ross & This Morning :) Hopefully other performances to be confirmed too! Great album!

OneD on 74k, Robbie 45k, and Gary is 4k behind Robbie

Robbie is coming for OneD's pretentious wigs. :smoke:

Not as great as I thought - the top 3 might still all break 100k with a busy Saturday!!

The sales are pretty good for sun-weds, 1D still looking like 120-140 perhaps more with the weekend

sorry if im being silly but ive read this entire topic and dont understand. really think im missing something but here goes...

what is this new jean grey album that everyone is bothered about flopping?        im a massive xmen fan and cant find anything about jean releasing an album or even an OST of her music from the games and tv show etc. im also a huge fan of famke jansen and the only thing i can find in regards to her releasing any music is an article from 2008 which says its something she'd be interested in exploring in the future.. what gives??

cant even find it on itunes. best bet is going in HMV tomorrow and having a mooch.. really random album release though but nice to see jean grey getting some exposure!

I really am PUZZLED.

Come on 1D! Really hope they take the no.1 this week, Story of My Life is their best single yet in my opinion and well worthy of a no.1
I think it's over for 1D, for this week at least. Lily was beating them anyway but her physicals have just pushed her further ahead. They might contend for #1 again next week what with it being another dead week but Avicii is starting to look like a strong contender.

Midweek charts update: One Direction heading for another 100,000 plus sales

Source: MW

by Paul Williams

One Direction's Midnight Memories will become the first artist album this year to sell 100,000 copies for two consecutive weeks.

The Syco album, which achieved the highest weekly sales of 2013 for an artist release last week after shifting 237,338 copies, has in this current week already sold another 87,692 units, according to the Official Charts Company. It still has Friday and Saturday to add to this tally.

One Direction's main rivals are erstwhile Take That colleagues Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow with Williams now moving ahead in the race. Sales of the Island-issued Swings Both Ways are up 3.5% on the week to lift it 3-2 as Barlow's Polydor album Since I Saw You Last falls 2-3 in the latest Sales Flashes.

There are brand new Top 10 entries at this point in the week from Syco's Il Divo and RCA's Rebecca Ferguson at Nos 4 and 6 respectively, while Rod Stewart's Capitol/Decca album Time has climbed back into the Top 10 with sales rising 362% after he appeared on ITV's Surprise Surprise last Sunday. It moves 38-10.

The singles market is having one of its quietest weeks of the year with no brand new entries in the Top 10 and no title yet shifting more than 40,000 copies. At present Parlophone's Lily Allen, who fell from No 1 last Sunday, is leading with Somewhere Only We Know making a three-place climb back to the top, but she is only a few thousand sales ahead of several singles. These are led by One Direction's Syco release Story Of My Life and also include Virgin act Bastille's Of The Night and Columbia-signed Calvin Harris' Under Control - with Alesso and Hurts - which debuted at No 1 last weekend.

ouch for McFly #39  could struggle to maintain its top 40 status by Sunday, the following tracks from last week's singles top 40 have left the building are One Direction [You & I and Don't Forget...], Rudimental, Jason Derulo/2 Chainz, Rizzle Kicks, Lily Allen, Showtek and Justin Bieber.

Biggest faller in the albums is JLS down to #33. I suspect Robbie Williams to crack 6 figures by the end of the weekend with his concert on BBC1 tonight at 8pm.

Apart from il divo none of the new releases doing that well. Rebecca being beaten by Olly! and Leona, Richard/Adam are not doing well either and Britney (I am a fan) is doing terribly with xmas sales she may even drop out of the top 40
