Diana Vickers did "Hallelujah" I believe, and a damn sight better and with tons more emotion than Alexandra Burke eventually did.

Just a shame she had that Godawful voice that should never have been allowed near White Flag.

Not even looning here but Luke definitely has the best chance of commercial success. Rough Copy might have one successful single or something but they're hardly gonna be the next JLS, and I can't see Hannah being a big selling artist as much as I'd like her to be. Tamera could if she does take a few years out like you said. Luke exceeded expectations and made the final, and he has more star appeal than anyone else in the final 12 IMO. He'll at least be a big album selling act (more in a Mumford & Sons kinda way than Richard & Adam, if you get what I mean) if handled right and will probably have a few hit singles too.

If his career is handled right then yes I can see him being successful but I get the feeling he'll have the same radio support and recognition as Misha B at best. I still think Rough Copy will be the biggest and have the most potential. Also, I think the JLS comparisons are lazy (not directing this at you, more in general/Louis Walsh). Just because they're the only two black boybands to find success on the show, it doesn't mean they are remotely similar. JLS always seemed very MOR on XF and "safe" whereas RC are more urban in style and some performances.

Also I kind of agree about Hannah. She could have critical success if she goes down the right route but maybe not that much commercial success. I think Tamera could have a #1 if released in the next 8 months but I think she's ruined her chances of success by terrible press and those poor performances.

Tamera?!

I actually think Luke missed his best change for success... surely You're nobody til somebody loves you would be perfect for Luke!?

Absolutely not. He deserves better than THAT.

I remember her doing Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne in one episode as well, which was, um, interesting since it's a song where you've basically got to shout the whole way through.

I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that if it was Luke's song and wasn't associated with James. :kink:

I'd love it if Beyonce could sneak to #1 in the New Year with Drunk In Love. She hasn't had a #1 as a main artist since 2008 (same as Leona actually).

 31. Beyonce "Mine (feat. Drake)"

 40. Beyonce "Pretty Hurts"

Any reason why PH is so high, the two 'big' collaborations at least make sense. Haven't heard any of the album yet - bar "XO", which I downloaded ASAP.

The only reason I can think of is simply because it's track one on the album, so it will get more attention than other random album tracks (obviously the Drake and Jay-Z collabs are higher, and that's because they feature Drake and Jay-Z)

It's also a fan favourite, I guess it's getting recommended a lot around the web.

1193. Kelly Clarkson - Winter Dreams (Brandon's Song)

Being used in a BBC advert or something, apparently! :D Would LOVE for it to climb to the top 500, but I doubt it will. My favourite non-single from her album. Can see it soundbedding a fair few Christmas adverts next year, much like Michael Buble's xmas songs atm!

(also; UTT currently at #23 and 293 :D)

UGH. GET GOING 'XO'! Why is it struggling (more than it should be) to go top 40!? :( It's definitely gonna be huge regardless though I think. Can't wait for radio and TV to play this!

Pharrell's Album only version of Happy still at #180 :o

Yes indeed.

So much for it being a 48hr rolling chart!

I thought this would put the matter to bed, but it's just posed more questions.

Pharrell getting a decent lead now:

1.0000 Pharrell Williams - Happy (from "Despicable Me 2")

0.7054 Sam Bailey - Skyscraper

New single?

Need to check it out B-)

Damn, why couldn't Pharrell have got this boost about a week ago? Could have stood a chance of beating Sam Bailey, considering how low her sales are for an X Factor winner's single, and it would have been so good to have a genuine hit as Christmas number 1. :(
^ I don't think Pharrell would have even got close to Sam Bailey anyway. She's still probably going to sell about 150,000 this week. Pharrell would probably have had to triple in sales to beat her. Maybe next week.
Sam has fallen to 67% :o at this rate she could fall to 4th or 5th with gift card effect
