I am SO excited too! The Catherine Tate Show was genius and Nan was pretty much the best. I'm fairly sure it will be a success, I mean look at Mrs Brown's Boys - most watched show on Christmas Day! This is basically an old woman swearing too (an actual woman not a man as a woman though I suppose), just with a bit more thought and substance to it.

She had much more entertaining characters on The Catherine Tate Show, but Nan is fantastic, and those preview clips were hilarious! :lol: Can't wait for this! :wub:

Oh, I would've preferred the original series returning as a whole, although I guess she's getting a little old to portray a school girl :P I'll probably watch the pilot, Nan can be absolutely hilarious when she wants to be.

The nan is definitely one of the most iconic sketch show characters ever, but I do wonder if this might run dry and become a little stale if it's JUST about her... we shall see though.

it's a pilot— if it does well (which i think it's pretty obvious it will) then it'll get a full series.

 

it'll be interesting to see if tate fleshes out the character a bit more. as much as her show had good comedic creations the one character/one joke x repeat for a series thing is very much out of date now...

I'm surprised they didn't just greenlight a full series considering it's Catherine Tate. I'll definitely watch this.

Cant wait for this, always loved Nan the most and i love her christmas special, bernie was the other character i loved but i am thrilled Nan is getting her own show.

I think thats the plan, they say they will judge it by the reaction of the first pilots but i think it will go ahead. With this and also the return of birds of a feather i have 2 sitcomes to look forward to, i just wish birds of a feather was on bbc as i cant sky plus itv here in Ireland.
