I pre-ordered the album along with a shirt and I can't wait now! heard the snippets on Instagram and I'm quite pleased she's heading in a country direction. Yes there are country/folk influences but she's said it's a pop record at heart so let's just wait. I love Sinner's Prayer the most, the dive tour performance of it has me mesmerised, I already want a video for that song ...beautiful.

This helps to piece this era and her career to date together. I can't admit that I am madly excited for the album (I am very excited but the hype is MINISCULE compared to previous ones) so i'm hoping it pleasantly surprises me. But as part of Lady Gaga the phenomena that perhaps once was, this is her coming full circle and going back to her humble, rocky, gritty roots and for that I wish she remains happy throughout the era belting out songs exactly how she used to a decade ago.

I'm actually more excited for this album than any of her other ones, it sounds like the kind of music I adore and I love both PI and Million Reasons.

Million Reasons is awful and boring but Perfect Illusion is a great song, it is her third best lead single.

Half way through and John Wayne is my favourite so far.

LET'S DO THIS. 'Diamond Heart' is a LOVELY opener. "I may not be flawless but I got a diamond heart" - a perfect lyric to represent this era?

'John Wayne' I will probably love with more listens? On first listen it's a bit all over the place but those effects in the chorus are fantastic!

 

OMG 'Dancin' In Circles' is a farmyard stable country JAM I love it *.*.*

Lmao I was wondering how 'Perfect Illusion' would fit in on the album but the ending of 'Dancin' In Circles' led into it quite nicely. Oh and then the sudden shift into 'Million Reasons' ;o a strange trio of tracks lmao.

 

Edit: OK i guess they work thematically and in terms of lyrical content, but musically it's a bit weird.

'Sinner's Prayer' is decent but I expected more from a song with such a STRIKING title.

 

'Come To Mama' is a bit shit lmao.

Hey Girl is decent! Their voices are sweet together.

 

Angel Down is a pretty haunting final track ~ And with that I think it could be the first album from Gaga that doesn't EXHAUST me from start to end because it's so stripped back and not frantic.

Hmm it'll rank as my least fave from her easily though but mainly because I love the others so much lmao. There are no YASSSSSSSS SLAYYYYY GAGAGA MOM moments, but plenty of "aww this is lovely" moments which is clearly the feel she was going for. I could not pick any future singles from it though :lol: Maybe 'Million Reasons'?? I have no idea lmao. All in all about a 8/10 album, decent and not as bad as it could've been given some of the expectations we had. Hopefully room to mature and grow over time too when we see what is coming down the line in terms of singles / live performances etc.
