Awful album. I can't even get through it. Had to stop playing as I used up my 5 spotify skips.
How about instead of skipping and spouting the sort of bile you do about this album (literally you'd think you'd have listened to this album at least 3 times or something), you should listen to it through before claiming you hate it?

The amount of songs that I'd not listen to and ended up liking if I skipped them is too much to count. Clips are not enough for any album! Fair enough if none of the singles take your fancy, but just don't listen to the album full stop? I don't get the point in listening to it knowing you're gonna be skipping the tracks and not giving them a real chance?

All I would say is listen to 'A-Yo'! Its a very fun song and I think you would like that one! Just give it a try, not enough people are singing its praises so I'm having to do it by myself.

Woah, I was expecting to be underwhelmed by this but quite the opposite, I have to say I really rather love it. Consistently strong throughout for me and I love how the production is quite 70s radio rock. Joanne and Million Reasons are beautiful and John Wayne, Come To Mama (sounds a bit Xmassy to me!) and Just Another Day are all really good fun. There are some really thoughtful and meaningful lyrics and lovely melodies on here too, even if the production on some tracks comes across a little 'unfinished demo'.

Weirdly I think Perfect Illusion is my least favourite song on here...it's a good song (great up to the key change) but it's not got a huge amount of replayability factor. I don't think there are any massive hits on here - the whole sound of the album just isn't streaming/chart friendly - but I admire her for not chasing trends. I'm not really sure what I'd have picked for lead single, Million Reasons would have worked best on the radio I think, as piano ballads never go out of fashion, but I think she'd have been criticised for leading with that.

Anyway, the album is a solid 9/10 and again, for me, she's delivered against all the odds.

Christ, do you have any idea how annoying and draining it is to come into this AF and see every single post by you being an idiotic, incoherent and nonsensical rant that more

often than not is full of poor grammar and the kind of crap you expect from an eight year old child? You jump on anyone who dares to have a thought or opinion that you don't agree with.

You never have anything but bile and negativity for Gaga and anything she does, if she is so "over" and the new Cyndi Lauper then surely the answer is to not listen to her music or visit a forum dedicated to her? Even on the rare occasion you do miraculously do say something positive, you feel the need to shoehorn it everywhere and you refuse to let anyone else have a differing opinon about it.

*cue some dumb response where I am called some kind of vemonous bacteria or something equally stupid*

I had my first listen through earlier, it's a nice album, very pleasant, nothing I find particularly bad or anything. On the flipside, nothing much stood out either, Perfect Illusion aside. I really liked A-Yo  and Million Reasons caught my attention in a good way (I hadn't listened before today), but the rest kinda merged into one. Maybe they'll stand out more with repeated listens though.
Really loving this album now  The only dud for me is Hey Girl.

This.

I don't understand the need to continually visit a thread or AF you have no interest in.

Okay I got a lot to say about this

I feel like compared to her other albums and the image that she's worked so hard to bring to life and for someone whose overall vision has been more whimsical and visually brash than most, something as stripped down as this seems out of place. However, I feel that there's some sort of social commentary laced within her discography (like American Horror Story style) that she's probably planned since "Just Dance" began to take off and this album is making it come full circle. Like it was a characters rise to fame (The Fame) and gets consumed by all of its temptations (The Fame Monster), so she embraces her flaws and lives in the moment (Born This Way) but then goes into this crazy mental breakdown (ARTPOP), and all of a sudden she remembers where she came from and finally settles down (Joanne). It seems like she's wrapping up one story and starting another with #LG6.

I was listening to some reviews on a radio station and one of the hosts said that this album gave them "desert vibes". Like Coachella. And that pretty much hit the nail on the head. I think a lot of us are trying to find a balance between unapologetic pop vibes and going hipster just because it sounds cool, and stuff like Coachella helps bridge these two extremes together. And I think that's the same thing Joanne is trying to do. There's stuff that seems a little too indie for its own good ("A-Yo", "Sinner's Prayer", "Just Another Day" and parts of "Come To Mama" come to mind), and there's stuff that's actually pretty current ("Diamond Heart", "John Wayne", "Dancing In Circles" (probably the best example), "Perfect Illusion", maybe "Angel Down" if the Hozier-type sound is still big), albeit maybe not in the pop format but still. I think this is Gaga's chance to branch out and chart in other formats rather than just pop because who knows when this opportunity will come again?

tl;dr idk why but I was expecting to hate it which is weird considering I liked 1D's last two albums and they're more alt/stadium rock than this but I actually kinda like it

10.0 Diamond Heart

09.0 A-Yo

08.5 Joanne

10.0 John Wayne

10.0 Dancin' In Circles

10.0 Perfect Illusion

08.5 Million Reasons

09.0 Sinner's Prayer

08.5 Come To Mama

09.0 Hey Girl

08.0 Angel Down

07.5 Grigio Girls

08.0 Just Another Day

07.0 Angel Down [Work Tape]

I feel like some of these have room to grow but this album has a strong first half.

Hmmmm, I don't hate this as much as I expected to. On my first (and what I was expecting to be only) listen through I found myself liking pretty much everything even if nothing is as stand out as moments from Born That Way or Fame Monster were.

Think I may put Yoü and I on this too as I've always liked it but it would feel much more in keeping with this album than it did on BTW.

This album feels like it could be by a completely different artist rather than the GaGa most of us know, however, I'm pleasantly surprised. There are a few tracks that are really enjoyable on first listen and no complete duds. 'Dancin' In Circles', 'Million Reasons', 'Hey Girl' and (yes) 'Perfect Illusion' sound great - 'Perfect Illusion' just makes so much sense amongst the rest of the album.

After 2-3 listens.

07 Diamond Heart

07.5 A-YO

07 Joanne

07.5 John Wayne

08.5 Dancin' In Circles

08.5 Perfect Illusion

08 Million Reasons

07.5 Sinner's Prayer

07 Come To Mama

07.5 Hey Girl

06.5 Angel Down

Quite a consistent album!

I'm sorry I love her. But, this is quite possibly the worst album of the year for me.
I sorta agree Tyler...for me this has been her Britney Jean (the only Britney album I didn't buy or invest and this will be the only Gaga album I won't buy or invest).
It's definitely not what I wanted or really expected from her, but I think it's solid. (Maybe that's because my expectations were so low though - WHO KNOWS.)

I expectations were pretty high. I mean she is my favorite pop artist after Britney and madonna. This album just sounds like a bunch of rejects she came up with before she got signed. They sound unfinished and unpolished. Her voice is still great however the music just is not for me.

Only love 'Perfect Illusion'. Two good tracks outside of that. Ps - Artpop is amazing and on 'In The Zone' and 'Ray of Light' levels after this. I will forever treasure 2008- 2013 gaga. Still love her as a person and actress though.

I think they made a mistake leading with Perfect Illusion. A-Yo and Million Reasons are the singles.

There are some good songs on this album. The second half of the album is much stronger though. A-yo isn't a very good track and surprised it's the next single quite frankly.
