This is slightly annoying because the second version will start to plummet soon and the top one will probably fall as well because it's lost the top ten effect (due to people buying the second version). It would probably have stuck around longer if it only had one version selling.

German Whip serious contender for top 3 perhaps, we'll have to see how the rest of the week pans out and whether it's frontloaded or not :o

I don't remember ever seeing a song like German Whip do so well - obvs pop-influenced grime has always done well, but a pure grime song getting this high is a rarity indeed. Makes a change though, I kinda like it in a way :ph34r:

 

Looking like a wonderful number 1 and Elyar not moving quite as fast as I expected - I can retain my faith in humanity for slightly longer :P

Can't believe 'German Whip' is actually in the top 5, I was semi expecting it to drop from its debut as I didn't think new purchases would be able to keep up with the months of pre-orders. Definitely didn't think it'd still be ahead of Elyar at this time either! I'm sure it'll still be frontloaded but has to have a good chance of top 10 now especially with a second version nearly top 40.

Lockdown is at 6pm, so however the itunes chat is at 6pm, that's what they will play. They normally would start playing the Top 10 around 6:10pm I would think.

I don't think that is the case. When the Now 87 version came out it made no difference to the top version, sales appeared steady. There was no indication that the second version was taking sales from the first. In other words the second version sales are 'extra' sales and the top version is behaving as it would have done if the second one didn't exist.
