I was obsessed with Bruno Mars' music during his first era, particularly with this song. It hasn't aged very well for me, but his debut album is still pretty great on the whole.

such angst etc.

Fight For This Love was 4th last time this was on?! :o For such a huge hit at the time, it faded really quickly.

A sign of the sales climates more than the popularity though.

I've always thought there must be some formula for these things that could even it out... something along the lines of taking the sales figure for the number 20 of the year to work out the relative ratio and then applying the ratio back to even out the eras.

Gah, that was such a geek post.

You heard their new stuff? Definitely a return to the more subtle stuff!

Some of it yes, and it still doesn't connect to me as much as the ones I mentioned.

I just feel like they're trying a bit too hard with their last two albums, and although they've still achieved hits as a result, I just wish they would release more simple and emotional songs like from the 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head' and 'Parachutes' era.

Most single releases from 'Viva La Vida or...' onwards are a lot more upbeat...

I know they sometimes got criticized by some as being too "depressing" back then, but that's what I loved.

generic dance done to perfection <3

I used to absolutely detest this song, but it has grown on me recently as has Cheryl as a whole (Promise This and Parachute will always remain terrible though).
YES! Really overrated amongst her fans I think. 'Fight For This Love' is still as amazing as it was 5 (!) years ago.

Ugh. I wish we'd all forget Cee-Lo (mainly 'Crazy' (GB) & this song, but him in general).

OMG and this LMFAO song? EVEN BLOODY WORSE.

I really love how Cee Lo Green managed to turn a song called 'Fuck You' into a massive wide-appealing hit and radio airplay megasmasher just by changing one word.

I agree. There's some songs from 2004 like Left Outside Alone, Toxic, Yeah!, Call On Me, etc. which should be as high as stuff like Grenade and Don't You Worry Child imo.

'Don't You Worry Child'

One of my favourite songs from the last few years.

"Sexy And I Know It" Had no idea this was close to 1 million downloads. We are just 5 records from breaking through the 1 million barrier now!

Can someone explain why Locked out of heaven dropped to 9 in its second week? :o

On Alan Carr recently they did a parody of Fight For This Love with the sailor costume. I think it's an average song though. 3 Words was a masterpiece, however (will.i.am clearly re-used the song's structure for OMG the year afterwards).

Starships!!  Not even ashamed to say this is one of my favourite songs in the Top 100.
